Cecilia Adler glanced at Ian Quincy. When he didn't object, she answered, "It's a small county called Aeridor, on the edge of Sudland Province. Under that county... well, you wouldn't know it even if I told you."
Ronan Shaw's expression flickered. "What a coincidence. My uncle went to Aeridor twenty years ago. He came back and told the family he'd fallen for a girl there and wanted to marry her. But he injured his head on his last mission and for the life of him couldn't remember her name or where she lived. All he knew was that he had to wait for her. He'd make time to go back and search every year, but without a specific address or a memory of her face, he never found her."
Cecilia Adler said, "Well, I can't help your uncle find her."
Ronan Shaw continued, "...What I'm getting at is, you might be the daughter of the woman who would have been my aunt."
Cecilia Adler's expression turned serious. "Don't be ridiculous. I have my own mom and dad."
