'Asleep?' Erin knocked again, tentatively. There was still no sound from inside. She stood at the door, pulled out her phone, and sent another message to Zhou Chen and Li Xiye, but still got no response.
She stood at the door for quite a while before someone suddenly opened it.
"Zhou Chen?" Erin was taken aback for a moment when she saw who it was, and her expression immediately turned suspicious. "Why was the door locked?"
"We were discussing a few things," Zhou Chen replied, perfectly composed.
Suspicion written all over her face, Erin walked into the hospital room. She saw Li Xiye lying in bed with an IV drip, and Li Xiye greeted her.
Everything seemed fine, and there were no strange smells in the air.
But that in itself was the problem.
'If nothing was wrong, why did they wait so long to open the door?'
