Shen Weimin stood up, giving his seat to Xu Changqing, who was hunched over the desk looking through account books. He walked over to one of the computers Xu Changqing had been using recently but didn't sit down right away.
First, he took two blank five-inch floppy disks from their box. Then, he used the powered-on computer to back up the data from the disk already in the drive.
Computer technology was still primitive back then. A simple game program would be considered entry-level at best, but easy in theory didn't mean easy in practice.
The biggest difficulty was just getting used to using it. It wasn't like later generations, which had entered an age of automated development, with all sorts of user-friendly auxiliary software.
Of course, companies that developed their own design and simulation software surely had large-scale computers internally.
