...at least a third, or even half, of the enemy Divine Spirits who drew their Faith from the Tree of the Magic Ring would have their power drastically reduced.
Then, after the power of their own Tree of the Magic Ring infiltrated the enemy's territory, it would further suppress the enemy's Divine Spirits.
With the enemy weakened and their own side strengthened, it would be possible to gain the upper hand even when fighting one against two.
