Across from the shriveled figure stood a burly man, his body rippling with muscle. A strange smile played on his lips, and clusters of black fire swirled around him.
In the area surrounding the two, enveloped by a black-light magnetic field, the ground was littered with charred, desiccated corpses. Some of them were frozen in struggling poses, their expressions twisted in agony, their bodies contorted into grotesque shapes. They looked like Evil Ghosts who had suffered endless torture in Hell.
It was a shocking scene. The black-light barrier was like a vision of the apocalypse, Wei He a world-ending Demon, and Feimura Masayuki a hero standing against the cataclysm, defending all living things with his broken body. As long as he did not fall, the land behind him would forever remain a sanctuary.
These were figures straight out of an epic painting from the Book of Revelation.
People with such abilities were called epic heroes.
