In the room.
Hu Qi was on one knee on the floor.
He struggled to push himself up, his chest heaving violently.
Harsh, ragged breaths escaped his lips and nose, raspy like a broken bellows.
Hu Qi could taste the metallic tang of iron in his mouth, and his vision was starting to blur.
Blood seeped from his nostrils, dripping onto the gray, iris-embroidered carpet and blooming into dark red stains.
He got to his feet and staggered into the washroom.
Gripping the edge of the sink, he looked up at the mirror on the wall.
His current appearance was reflected within it.
His once-handsome face was now ashen as a corpse. A web of blood vessels covered the whites of his eyes, and trickles of blood snaked from his eyes, ears, and nose.
Droplets of blood rolled down his gaunt jawline.
He looked like someone who had been grievously injured and was on the brink of death.
'Damn it...'
Hu Qi cursed under his breath.
His voice was incredibly hoarse.
