CRACK!
The black-robed man's words were cut short.
The five fingers of the white lace glove wrapped around his neck tightened abruptly, their sharp tips piercing his skin and digging deep into his flesh.
The sickening crunch of shattering bone ripped through the damp air of the sewer.
Beneath his hood, the black-robed man's fanatical, stubble-covered face—weathered and world-weary—froze.
His bloodshot eyes bulged.
His pupils, forever fixed and dilated, reflected one last, desolate image.
It was the young woman's cold face and her strange, reptilian slit pupils.
THUD!
She nonchalantly tossed the body of the black-robed man, his neck now snapped, to one side.
Once she was done,
the slit pupils in the young woman's eyes faded away, reverting to their original turquoise color.
The powerful aura emanating from her body also rapidly dissipated.
Her body swayed.
