Aurora Sinclair froze and looked up at him.
"If I'd met you sooner, maybe you wouldn't have suffered so much."
Alvin Morgan reached out, brushed a strand of hair from her lips, and tucked it behind her ear. His gaze was earnest as he said, "Don't take what Kevin Whitlock said to heart. I've known what kind of person he is since we were children. The Whitlock Family is every bit as ambitious as the Lowell Family."
"Morgan..."
"It's true that debts must be paid, but when it comes to Kevin Whitlock, you don't have to hold back!"
A dark glint flashed in Alvin Morgan's eyes.
The Whitlock Family had been using the Morgan Family's name to get away with a lot over the years. The Morgans had overlooked it for the sake of their familial ties through marriage. But now they were trying to meddle in his affairs? 'Do they really think I don't know what they're up to?'
