There's actually a rule in the Array of Solitary Void's trial: if the trial creature gives up chasing a Trial Taker to target someone else, the original Trial Taker is considered to have passed.

This was a relatively obscure rule that most people weren't aware of. In previous trials, participants were always alone, making it impossible to have someone else take their place. But within the Elite Trial Array, such a tactic was viable.

However, there was one thing to be mindful of: the aggro lock.

Attacking the trial creature would cause it to lock onto you. At that point, the only way to transfer its aggro was for someone else to land a much harder blow. This was an instinctive reaction for Exotic Beasts—to hold a grudge against the one who hit them the hardest.

The other option was to not attack at all. When someone else eventually made a move, the aggro would shift to them, allowing you to pass the trial directly.
