Jiangg Yao took off her shoes, a bit unsteady on her feet. Swaying back and forth, she held her pure white sneakers upside down and gave them a shake.
A small, sharp pebble rolled out.
"Why does it hurt so much..." She lowered her head, twisting her foot to look at the sole. A small, dark gray dot had appeared on the bottom of her cute bear-themed socks. "Don't tell me it drew blood."
Chen Yuan stared for a moment.
The night was dark; it was too hazy to see anything clearly.
"Go over to that bench. Sit down and take a look."
"Mhm." Jiangg Yao agreed pitifully. Leaning on Chen Yuan for support, she hopped over to the bench and sat down.
Coincidentally, there was a streetlamp near the bench. The light wasn't very bright, but it was just enough.
Jiangg Yao deftly pulled off her bear socks, revealing delicate toes like tiny steamed buns. She bent her foot with her hands, using the light to examine the sole.
There was a red mark, but thankfully, it wasn't bleeding.
