After Ke Liangjie finished speaking to Fang Zhen in Chinese, he let out a sigh.
"My current position is incredibly precarious," he continued. "One step up, and I could make it big here. But one slip-up, and I might end up dead."
"I might look like I'm doing well, but I can't sleep at night."
Ke Liangjie finished and looked at Fang Zhen. "I know you want all sorts of munitions. You're a big-shot client."
"I have black market channels. I can find anything you want to buy."
"But don't screw me over. I won't take a fee from you. All I ask is that you let me introduce you to a powerful figure I know."
"If he benefits from his connection to you, my standing with him will improve. That way, I'll have latched onto someone powerful, and my own safety will be guaranteed."
"At least I won't have to live on edge like this, sleeping with a gun under my pillow at night."
Fang Zhen nodded.
He understood Ke Liangjie's predicament.
