A group of Beast Demons busily butchered the captured mortals. They had the heads of beasts and the bodies of men, with grotesque features. Wielding sharp, ox-ear knives, they carved chunks of flesh from the mortals tied to wooden stakes.
At first, the pained curses and pleas for mercy from the mortals could be heard. Then, only weak, listless gasps remained. In the end, even those faint breaths ceased.
Silence.
The Ox Power Demons sat on the ground in a boisterous, chaotic mass.
As Mid Tier Celestial Demons, an Ox Power Demon's chances of advancing to Tier Two were not much different from that of a Cultivator with mediocre aptitude. Among the many Ox Power Demons present, the Tier Two ones were exceedingly rare, and they all went to sit with the Elephant Power Demons.
Their status was higher, allowing them to feast on the flesh and blood alone, unlike the majority of the Ox Power Demons who were crammed together, eating whatever the Beast Demons brought them.
