Dr. Tang Zheng's facial reconstruction surgery, led by Yan Feifan, began promptly at nine o'clock on Friday morning.
The surgery took place in Operating Room 1 on the second floor of the Little Red House.
There were two surgical assistants, Wang Chuan and Zhu Jian, and the anesthesiologist was Luo Zhen, a senior anesthesiologist from the plastic surgery center.
The scrub nurse was Meng Yao.
As for the circulating nurse, because the patient had filed a complaint against Ye Lin, Yan Feifan had to temporarily borrow one from Wang Chuan's surgical team.
Several young doctors, including Berry, Lin Qian, and Qi Xiuping, were in the operating room for close-up observation.
Once the surgery started, Yan Feifan used his scalpel with bold, decisive strokes. He completely removed the muscle tissue on the left side of Tang Zheng's face that had been corroded by concentrated acid—tissue that was either mutilated, twisted, or matted together.
