On Friday morning, Yan Feifan arrived at the Affiliated Hospital's plastic surgery center as usual.
But just as he got out of his car, he was stopped by Mr. Liu, the hospital director, who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
"Feifan, you're here early. Did you sleep well last night?"
Yan Feifan noticed Mr. Liu's smile seemed a bit forced. He replied in a low voice, "Sir, I slept alright. Knocked out right until dawn."
"My sleep quality has always been quite good. I'll probably be starting a research project on sleep soon."
"If the research goes smoothly..."
Yan Feifan said with a touch of eagerness, "Sir, there's a good chance the results could help people with sleep disorders and significantly improve their sleep problems..."
Seeing Yan Feifan deliberately go off-topic to talk about sleep research, Liu Jin found it somewhat amusing.
He quickly cut him off. "Alright, since you have a new idea, go ahead and submit the research proposal."
