They had just completed a repair surgery on a patient's right index and middle fingers.
The patient was a little boy just over seven years old.
The mischievous child had seen a video on his phone of an expert who could stop the high-speed blades of an electric fan with his finger.
This brave little boy thought he had the same ability.
The result was predictable.
The fan blades had mangled the boy's two fingers, leaving them a bloody mess. Not only that, but two phalanges from each finger had been knocked clean off.
It took Yan Feifan and Yu Suye a great deal of effort to restore the boy's index and middle fingers to a basic, intact form.
