The sun vanished in the distance, the sky turned black, leaving only the few streetlights that line the road to my house shining.
– you are incapable of managing on your own.
Did I reproach them?
But as far as I can see it's useless, they don't even seem to know the cause of the problem, let alone what the problem is.
Damn.
Was I complaining to myself?
I opened my jacket, took it off and put it over my shoulders, I started to unbutton my shirt and ended up taking that off as well.
The most annoying thing wasn't them, it wasn't the situation, but rather Lionel; instead of acknowledging part of his fault, of taking responsibility, he stared at me with his accusing gaze.
"Mr. Know-It-All, the Right Method"
I wiped the sweat that was beading on my forehead and stopped in front of him.
"Do you have something to tell me?" I asked him.
The atmosphere turned icy around my neck, they were all looking at me as if I was going to jump on their necks, so now it's my fault.
That annoys me even more.
– Are you going to talk? Or do I have to beg you?
Silence
I was standing there in front of the group, I felt like I was blocking their path.
Luc finally exchanged a nervous look with Lionel and backed away, backwards.
- seriously!
It's not like I'm going to stab him in the back, it's more like you guys are the ones who look more like traitors.
At least one of them still seemed to look at me like a normal person.
Raph snuggled up to my side; at times he really looked like an NPC.
– Boys, you need to find a dental field. If we start fighting amongst ourselves, what are they going to do, especially with…
She cut herself and covered her lips by clenching her fist.
At least a semblance of calm returned to the group.
I crossed my arms over my chest and regained control of my group.
– Are you finished?
– Can we move on to something more serious?
They looked at each other again as if he were asking Lionel's permission, and then Lionel spoke.
– I think we'll postpone that until tomorrow, I have to go home.
Then he turned around, serious, and started walking forward accompanied by the others; they disappeared into the distance without even waiting for my opinion, my answer, or anything else.
He dares to undermine my authority.
– hha~
I murmured a joyless smile
Raph patted me on the shoulder and gently took my hand in his arms
– Don't get upset, it's not like he wants your place…. Is it?
I turned my gaze towards her
– He doesn't have the courage.
I reminded him
She smiled and pinched my nose
– Stop, she's your friend, let's go, I'll walk you home.
I can at least praise her for her personality.
She accompanied me home without asking any annoying questions, just listened and smiled. She is cute and polite; I only realize it now, but she seems to have become like a little doll.
She is much better than her.
