187 To comply with the will of Heaven, the Three Immortals had no choice but to submit.
Chu Feng had no idea how long he'd slept. When he opened his eyes, Qian Renxue and the System were standing over him like a pair of curious toddlers, staring hard.
"What are you two doing? Do I have flowers growing on my face?" Chu Feng was baffled.
Their gazes were pure curiosity, practically radiating thirst for knowledge.
"Do you feel any… changes?" Qian Renxue's beautiful eyes sparkled, brimming with curiosity.
The System's big eyes widened further, looking odd—because the current Chu Feng was different; he'd actually grown—by at least ten centimeters.
"Changes? Right now I feel great—endless strength…" Come to think of it, Chu Feng did feel transformed, power surging through him, utterly comfortable.
"Little Sword has grown up—wonderful!" The next second Qian Renxue hugged Chu Feng and praised him again.
Baffled!
Chu Feng felt hurt—why did she always cover his mouth? Couldn't she try something else?
Wait a minute,
Grown up—what exactly had grown up?
"Hahaha…"
Suddenly Chu Feng burst out laughing; he really was different now—finally, no more worries.
"So do we activate the teleport and leave, or stay put?" the System puffed its cheeks, feeling a bit awkward.
Why did this guy grow taller just by napping on the ground? It wanted to grow too—yet it was only half a meter tall!
"Let's go—what's the point of staying inside?"
Chu Feng was in high spirits; if he didn't get out and have fun, what was the point of hiding in the mountains?
"How do we get out?"
A sharp question indeed—how to exit was urgent, bro!
"How about we try…滴血认亲—no,滴血认主!" the System said, stroking its chin.
"Drop your sister! This rock's huge—drain all our blood and it still won't be enough," Chu Feng clicked his tongue; every novel swore by the drop-of-blood trick.
"Wait—I vaguely remember the Old Immortal used a drop of blood to open this array," Qian Renxue said seriously.
Chu Feng: "…"
Without another word Chu Feng grabbed the System by the neck and lifted it up.
"WTF, kid, what are you doing? I'm hemophobic…" the System wailed; disaster out of nowhere.
"Hemophobic my foot—you're a System, what blood?" Chu Feng ignored the nonsense.
"I really can't stand blood!"
"Kid… you're not serious, right?"
The System felt deeply wounded; Qian Renxue stifled a laugh—strangers no more, in these mountains only the living things could talk, who cared who anyone was?
"Knife, where's the knife? Quick, bleed it!"
"Help—I really can't stand blood!" the System howled.
Next moment Qian Renxue produced a small dagger that shimmered coldly, entirely purple like carved amethyst, seamless.
System: "…"
Chu Feng snatched the dagger and with a swish slashed the System's little paw.
"Holy—"
But the faker wasn't hemophobic at all; problem was, its skin was insanely thick—one slash, no cut.
Slash again!
Still intact!
Keep slashing.
No reaction!
"How thick is your damn hide?" Chu Feng raged—was this thing all skin?
A true Pipi God.
"No idea!" The System was equally dumbfounded—its body seemed oddly different.
"Could the System be some primordial divine beast, gifted beyond compare?" Qian Renxue mused, also curious.
"Of course—our System race are mighty divine beasts; a tiny dagger can't even break our defense…" it boasted smugly.
Those words stung.
Out of options, Chu Feng plopped the System on the ground, walked to the boulder, and sliced his own palm.
Swish!
But the next second,
Chu Feng stared dumbfounded; so did the System; Qian Renxue looked stunned.
What the hell was going on?
The gleaming dagger couldn't even scratch his palm—was the thing fake?
Another slash!
Still intact!
Again!
"…"
The trio felt cursed. If the System's toughness was innate, what about Chu Feng—was he a divine beast too?
"Let me try," Qian Renxue said, gliding over and taking the dagger.
A moment later all three were stunned again—her palm wouldn't cut either.
That was beyond odd; one person, fine—three in a row meant something big was up.
"Could it be…"
Suddenly they wondered if it had to do with where they were.
No, no!
"The fruit!"
They blurted in unison—the only possibility was the fruit they'd eaten was extraordinary.
Bang!
Next second Chu Feng grabbed the System and slammed it against the giant rock.
"Ow—kid, what are you doing!" the System shrieked, tears flowing; life as a cat was hopeless.
The next moment,
the System rolled its eyes and smashed head-first into the stone, a loud clang—yet nothing happened; its head was made of iron.
"Damn—System, are you cast from steel? That skull's insane!" Chu Feng gaped; the body was ridiculously tough.
"Kid, you're too—"
Before it could finish, runes on the boulder blazed with blinding light, mysterious energy rippling; space quivered and the stone turned illusionary, becoming a portal.
Chu Feng: "…"
System: "…"
Qian Renxue: "…"
That actually worked? The array designer must've been nuts—just hit the thing and it opens; why make it so complicated?
Though desperate to leave, they hesitated—no one knew what lay outside, what the World was like now.
They had no idea where the portal led; stepping through could mean instant danger.
A real dilemma—survival wasn't easy, and while no one wanted to wander, sometimes life gave no choice.
Yet
the System yelped and dashed straight into the array, vanishing with a buzz.
