Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: One Month Later

Hearing Minato and Kushina's words, Wen Lan was momentarily speechless, but he decided not to argue.

Minato used the Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport everyone to his house.

The moment they arrived, everyone froze.

The house was a complete mess.

Tables and chairs had been dismantled.

The wardrobe and bed had been chopped into wooden planks.

It was obvious that someone had searched the place earlier.

The instant Kushina saw the scene, chakra exploded from her body.

Her crimson hair writhed like living tentacles, and the murderous aura pouring from her made even Wen Lan instinctively step back.

Jiraiya suddenly seemed to recall something terrible.

Without hesitation, he grabbed Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan and bolted out the door.

Orochimaru followed immediately. Even though he didn't know exactly what was about to happen, the look on Kushina's face—and Jiraiya's expression like someone whose father had just died—told him nothing good was coming.

Tsunade knew these two friends far too well.

She grabbed Shizune and hurried outside as well.

Zhiyan blinked in confusion, completely lost.

Then Kushina roared:

"They destroyed the room I worked so hard to clean! They're all dead!"

A surge of violent red chakra erupted instantly.

The shockwave blasted Zhiyan away, smashing him into a wall and embedding him there like a nail.

Wen Lan had already prepared himself but was still forced back three or four steps.

Minato formed hand seals defensively, holding Naruto with one arm as his face paled.

Wen Lan stared at Kushina as if he'd seen a ghost.

Crimson chakra wrapped around her body, her red hair twisting wildly.

She looked less like a human and more like a demon incarnate.

At that moment, Wen Lan sincerely admired the kids who had bullied Kushina when she was young.

They were unbelievably brave.

Anyone who didn't know better would think she was some kind of humanoid weapon.

The "Red-Hot Habanero" truly lived up to the name.

"Waaah—!"

Naruto burst into frightened tears.

Kushina snapped back to reality immediately.

Her chakra retracted at once.

She hurriedly took Naruto from Minato, her voice trembling.

"Little Naruto, don't cry… Mommy isn't angry anymore…"

Her eyes reddened, the contrast between her earlier fury and her current panic stark.

Zhiyan slumped in the corner, sweating profusely as he stared at her.

"My god… now I know why the Third Elder always says 'chakra volume'… That chakra is pouring out like it's free!"

"If it condensed, wouldn't that basically be Susanoo?!"

Wen Lan wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Women going berserk are terrifying.

The worst part?

There was zero warning.

He glanced at Minato, who only gave a helpless smile—as if this scene was completely normal.

Wen Lan silently gave him a thumbs-up.

This wasn't marrying a wife.

This was marrying a volcano.

From another perspective, Minato had done the world a favor by marrying this monster.

Meanwhile, Kushina held Naruto gently, soothing him while her fingers trembled slightly. She clearly realized she had lost control.

Dust still fell from the ceiling, and the air carried the faint burnt smell of dispersed chakra.

Minato patted Kushina's back softly, his warm gaze hiding a trace of worry.

Children were notorious for crying.

If Naruto kept this up, would Kushina explode again?

Securing the House

Soon after, several ANBU quickly cleaned the house.

Within a short time, everything looked normal again.

Even the bed and cabinets had been replaced.

Kushina sat on the new bed, gazing at the sleeping Naruto, gently brushing his tiny cheek. Her eyes were filled with both guilt and tenderness.

In the living room, Wen Lan sat quietly on the sofa and looked at Minato.

"From now on, for one month, no one except you may enter that room."

"Not even ANBU. Not even Hana."

Minato smiled bitterly.

"Do we really need to go that far? Aren't you worried Hana will be angry?"

"She isn't that kind of girl," Wen Lan replied calmly.

"I trust her."

"Alright," Minato nodded. "If you're sure."

The Long Month

For the next month, Wen Lan stayed in Minato's house every day.

His "Nullification" ocular ability never deactivated.

Inside that room, the security was absolute.

Even the slightest fluctuation of chakra couldn't escape his perception.

At first, Wen Lan assumed Naruto's crying would trigger Kushina's temper.

But after several days of observation, he realized that even when Naruto cried or knocked over milk bottles, Kushina only sighed or smiled.

Her chakra never lost control again.

Instead—

Wen Lan was the one suffering.

Some nights when Naruto cried endlessly, Wen Lan nearly ran in just to strangle the baby.

After a month of this routine, Wen Lan looked like a zombie.

Dark circles under his eyes, exhausted beyond belief.

Despite being a child himself, he now resembled a worn-out old man.

Finally, one month later, Kushina's body had fully recovered.

Her strength had returned to its peak condition.

Only then did Wen Lan finally return home.

The moment he touched his bed—

He fell asleep instantly.

He slept for three days and three nights without even going to the bathroom.

Guang and Pakura almost thought he had died.

They kept checking his room repeatedly.

Tsunade, however, knew he was simply exhausted.

Four Days Later

On the fourth afternoon, Wen Lan slowly opened his eyes.

Sunlight slanted through the window.

His joints cracked as he stretched.

He walked to the window and pushed it open.

Fresh air rushed in.

In the distance, the faces on the Hokage Monument stood solemn under the sunset.

Though the third face looked a bit… annoying.

Pakura heard movement and immediately pushed open the door.

Seeing Wen Lan awake, she sighed with relief, then scolded him.

"If you hadn't woken up soon, I would've dragged you to the hospital for a full examination!"

Wen Lan smiled.

"Is there anything to eat?"

"Yes," Pakura replied.

"Tsunade said the first thing you'd want when you wake up is food."

They went to the living room.

Pakura brought out steaming dishes.

Wen Lan devoured the food like a starving wolf until every plate was empty.

Only then did he lean back and pat his stomach with satisfaction.

"Oh right," he asked.

"How long was I asleep?"

"Three days."

"Anything happen in Konoha?"

"Nothing major," Pakura said.

"There was a memorial yesterday… for the ninja who died the day before."

Wen Lan nodded.

Then he stood up.

"I'm going to the clan head's residence."

Pakura continued cleaning the table.

"Alright."

At the Uchiha Residence

Wen Lan walked into Fugaku's courtyard humming a tune.

He pushed the door open.

Fugaku sat under the eaves, calmly drinking tea.

Mikoto held baby Sasuke, softly humming a lullaby.

Nearby, Itachi crouched down, watching his little brother babble happily, his eyes full of affection.

Wen Lan entered.

Everyone turned toward him.

He scratched his head and grinned.

"Sorry if I disturbed you."

"It's fine," Mikoto said gently.

"You slept quite a long time."

"I was exhausted."

Fugaku snorted.

"You don't visit without a reason. What do you want?"

Wen Lan grinned.

"I need a drop of Sasuke's blood."
