Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: Persistence and Hard Work, Got It?

"I already told you, this is an adventure."

"You call something this deadly an adventure?"

Carlotta screamed, staring at the tide of Tacet Discords closing in from all directions, her hands clenched tightly:

"From what you're saying, we're going to experience being surrounded by countless Tacet Discords like this two more times!"

"That's right. We're also going to summon an ultra-cool giant dragon Tacet Discord."

"What?! The giant dragon we summon is also a Tacet Discord?! I thought it was an Echo!"

Listening to Noah's earth-shattering statement, Carlotta felt her vision go black.

At most, she could take on a dozen or so of the Order of the Deep's La Guardia at once, but right now she was facing over a hundred Tacet Discords of various kinds, including quite a few Calamity-class ones.

The warm-up for summoning the giant dragon was already this heavy. Just what kind of terrifying monster would the actual summoned dragon be!

Brilliant opal crystals rapidly condensed into two long spears in her hands. Carlotta took a deep breath, her gaze fixed intently on the countless approaching Tacet Discords.

At this point, saying any words of regret would be completely useless.

Although there were many Tacet Discords, as long as she maneuvered carefully and paid attention to positioning, they were still beatable!

Under the lead-black swirling dark clouds, the fierce wind blew her long hair, which had turned as colorful as opal due to using her Resonance ability:

"Next time there's an adventure like this, please don't ever..."

Before she could finish, Carlotta saw a strange, bewitching camellia flower gathering in the palm of the man in front of her. The exquisite bloom looked like an untouchable work of art.

"Fury of the Camellia Lotus!"

With a casual toss from Noah, the camellia flower floated lightly forward and landed among the surging tide of Tacet Discords.

In the next instant, a blinding red light exploded. A large swath of Tacet Discords was instantly blasted into the sky, followed belatedly by a massive booming explosion.

The shockwave from the violent blast made Carlotta unable to keep her eyes open. When the gust finally subsided, she saw nothing but golden Echoes scattered across the ground.

Whether they were Common-class or Calamity-class, none had survived the explosion. Even those only grazed by the aftershock had been completely annihilated.

"What did you just say? Next time there's an adventure like this, please don't ever what?"

Feeling Noah's gaze turn toward her, Carlotta answered without hesitation:

"Next time there's an adventure like this, please don't ever forget to bring me!"

"Deal!"

Noah gave a dashing smile. With a flip of his hand, another exquisite red camellia flower appeared in his palm and he handed it to Carlotta:

"Put the spears away. This one hits hard—use this instead."

Carlotta immediately dismissed her opal long spears and carefully cradled the camellia flower that contained terrifying Havoc power.

Before witnessing its power, she had only thought the flower was incomparably beautiful. Now that she had seen its might, she realized it possessed such a lethally beautiful charm.

The extremely compressed Havoc energy inside the camellia rose and fell like breathing, causing the petals to gently expand and contract in a small range, as if it were a living creature.

At this moment, Carlotta felt she had become terrifyingly powerful.

"How do I use this flower?"

Noah made a throwing motion:

"Just like this—biu~BOOM!"

"Got it, got it."

Carlotta copied Noah's motion and hurled the camellia flower toward another rapidly approaching tide of Tacet Discords, imitating his tone:

"Fury of the Camellia Lotus——"

"biu~"

"BOOM!"

After another earth-shaking explosion, countless Tacet Discords were blasted into the air. When they landed, they had turned into a carpet of golden Echoes.

Awesome! Way too awesome!

Carlotta couldn't hide her smile.

Enemies that should have been extremely troublesome had been wiped out in the blink of an eye. Was this what it felt like to cheat?

Even though this power didn't truly belong to her… the feeling was simply too exhilarating! So exhilarating that she couldn't help wanting to roar!

Thinking of this, Carlotta couldn't resist turning her head to ask:

"What kind of Resonance ability is this, exactly?"

"A friend's ability."

Noah spoke, then shook his head with a sigh of regret:

"It's just that… she's only an eight-thousand-year-old little kid. Her understanding of Resonance abilities is shallow and crude."

"As for me, I studied it for a full three days. In terms of technique, I naturally surpass her by a level."

"This is my persistence and hard work!"

Carlotta: ...

She didn't understand, but it sounded incredibly impressive.

"If only I had an ability like this too."

Carlotta couldn't help but sigh wistfully:

"I could create such powerful explosions anytime, anywhere."

"Huh?!"

This time it was Noah's turn to widen his eyes:

"You want to turn into a potato mine?"

"What potato mine?"

Carlotta's question received no answer. Instead, she was given a strange camellia flower that had been pinched into a hemispherical shape with an antenna-like protrusion.

She threw the flower out. Watching the final massive wave of Tacet Discords turn into Echoes in the explosion, an inexplicable sense of loss crept into her heart.

"What a shame..." Carlotta sighed and shook her head.

"What's a shame?" Noah looked over in surprise.

The array patterns on the altar beneath their feet had been completely lit up. No more Tacet Discords were pouring in. Only then did Carlotta slowly continue:

"What a shame… we only have two more chances to clear out Tacet Discords on such a large scale."

"Huh?!"

Noah froze. Even his motion of picking up Echoes slowed down.

My dear sister, isn't this a bit ridiculous? Just a moment ago you thought three times was too many. After experiencing it once, you're now complaining that only two times left is too few.

On the other side.

Fagaceae Peninsula shoreline.

A gondola slowly approached the dock.

A box jumped out of the gondola, landed on the ground, and spun around a few times.

"Eh?"

A soft, sweet voice filled with confusion came from inside the box. As the zipper slid open, long blue-and-pink streaked hair adorned with feathers was revealed.

"Eh?"

The small head looked around in all directions and let out another puzzled sound.

Roccia fully emerged from the box, gazing up at the storm-ravaged sky and scratching her head:

"Weren't we supposed to meet here?"

A radio signal sounded. Roccia answered the call, and a hearty voice immediately rang out from the terminal:

"First Mate, the troupe's sponsor said they'll be delayed for a bit. So… why don't you wait for them?"

Listening to Brant's words, Roccia pouted:

"A bit… how long is that?"

"How about this—one hour. If they still haven't shown up, just come back."

Brant's excited laughter came from the terminal:

"Oh right, First Mate, I forgot to tell you. A friend from Ragunna told me that a priest from the Order of the Deep was sent onto the pilgrimage ship today."

"When the whole Troupe of Fools heard the news, we couldn't stop laughing. We're all waiting here on Penitent's End right now."

"As long as that priest's pilgrimage ship gets carried over by the undercurrents, I guarantee he'll get what's coming to him! Hahahahaha!"

The reason the Troupe of Fools was called the Troupe of Fools was because the vast majority of its members were "fools" who had been sent onto pilgrimage ships by the Order of the Deep.

Although everyone had been sent for different reasons, their hatred for the Order was exactly the same.

Listening to Brant's loud laughter, Roccia stomped her foot, looking displeased:

"Why are you only telling me this now?"

"Well… uh, First Mate, kids should act like kids. Don't learn bad habits from us."

"Captain Brant, Roccia is going to tell Bardolino and the others where you hide your wine."

"Ah? Ah… what did you say? I'm not wearing my hat so I can't hear anything. Hanging up now!"

Beep——

The terminal was hung up.

Roccia glanced once more at the bleak, wind-howling surroundings, stomped her foot again, and puffed out her cheeks:

"Not fun!"

...

"So fun!"

Inside the second altar, Noah formed hand seals. Beside him, the Sentinel's phantom continued to spew powerful white light.

Celestial Court Radiance · Ultra-long sustained spray · No cooldown version!

He turned his head and loudly asked Carlotta, who was imitating his hand seals not far away:

"Is it fun?!"

"So fun!"

Carlotta shouted back. Her hand seals shifted slightly, and the white radiance sprayed by the Sentinel phantom beside her turned in the same direction.

The scorching white light was like a high-pressure water cutter. Wherever it passed, whether Common-class or Calamity-class Tacet Discords, they were effortlessly blasted into Echoes.

Borrowing Noah's Jinhsi power, she was now terrifyingly strong!

The raging wind blew up Carlotta's long hair. Dopamine flooded her brain. She felt she had never been this unrestrained and excited in her entire life.

Another large group of Tacet Discords was crushed and blasted into Echoes. She couldn't help laughing loudly and shouting:

"So fun! Super fun!!"
