Chapter 134 - 134. Second phase: The great battle.

The second phase began without ceremony that no one can ever get to see me that way. In that way, the battle starts. Come on!

No war drums. No battle cries. No lies. No temptation. He was an absolute beast. Only the low, steady hum of nine worlds moving through one mortal heart as Karl took another step forward in the ruined throne room of Asgard where he was becoming an absolute will to power.

The battle continues…

Phase Two – The Unraveling

Hel was the first to strike to see what was going on.

She raised both hands the way no one could see the clarity between life and death. From the floor rose an army of the dishonored dead shades of warriors who had died without glory, their forms half-rotten, eyes hollow with eternal resentment. I mean, it is like something was off. They surged forward like a tide of forgotten oaths.

Karl did not raise a fist, but something far greater.

He simply exhaled.

Will to Death + Helheimr's Quiet Acceptance + Miðgarðr's Stubborn Mortal Heart

The wave of undead met perfect, gentle finality in the most beautiful way.

Every shade that touched him felt the clean weight of an ending done right. No more loops. No more hunger for revenge. One by one they simply… let go. Their forms dissolved into soft gray mist that carried no bitterness, only the quiet relief of being allowed to rest. Maybe, there was something to this that made it magical.

Hel's eyes narrowed. For the first time, the Queen of the Dead looked uncertain.

Hel: You would rob them of their rage? Humans don't exist on the same level as immortals. They can't even be hurt by our weapons. But you, Karl--you are part god, part human. You live in both worlds. (she hissed.)

Omega: I would give them peace, ( Karl answered.) His voice carried the stillness of Niflheimr's ice and the warmth of Vanaheimr's bloom at once.

Rage is just pain that never learned how to finish. I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious. NO ONE CAN WIN AGAINST ME.

Loki moved next.

The trickster god blurred into a dozen forms at once some laughing, some weeping, some offering power, some offering love, all of them lies wrapped in silver tongues that you could get if you were to speak proto Germanic.

Will to Sadness + Álfheimr's Luminous Grace + Will to Love

Karl walked through the storm of illusions without breaking stride.

Every false vision he met with honest sorrow and honest love. That is to say that no one could get to see how destroyed he was inside despite his knowledge of nothing and everything. He saw the pain behind each mask. He saw the loneliness that had driven Loki to every betrayal. And he answered each one with the same quiet truth:

Omega: I see you. All of you. You don't have to keep performing. have been wandering to find him and my happiness is so great that it even weakens me like a wound. And this is the marvel of marvels, that he called me Beloved, me who am but as a dog

One by one the illusions shattered not violently, but gently, like glass returning to sand. Loki staggered, real sweat beading on his immortal brow. That is to say that he was at least not that strong. In fact, he was weak and stupid. No one could ever accept the fact that a God could be weak. In that way, something got wasted away.

For the first time in eternity, the God of Mischief had nothing clever left to say.

Fenrir roared and lunged a second time, jaws wide enough to swallow the sun quickly like a real behemoth. DEVOUR.

Karl met the wolf head-on to face him

Will to Power + Jötunheimr's Primordial Mass + Will to Chaos

He caught Fenrir's jaws with both hands.

The impact should have pulverized every bone in his body that could actually take me to the eternal crepuscule.

Instead, the wolf met the full weight of every mountain Karl had squatted in the white room, every paradox he had pushed against for a hundred million years, every chaotic force he had learned to dance with instead of fear that was stored inside their hearts

Fenrir thrashed. Karl did not budge.

He looked straight into the wolf's blazing eyes and spoke with the calm of someone who had already died a thousand times in training. Even so, it does not mean that this line could actually surpass the real deal of life.

Omega: You were never the villain. You were the consequence. Let it finish. Your thoughts about your circumstances have you down. On the other hand, you can be in one of the biggest battles of your life, and still be filled with joy and peace and victory - if you simply learn how to choose the right thought. It's time to think about what you're thinking about. Maybe, that is what you need. You gotta show up for it.

Will to Fate + Will to Destiny

Karl twisted not with brute force, but with perfect alignment of every will he had trained.

The chains that had once bound Fenrir were long gone, but new ones formed not of metal, but of honest acceptance. Fenrir's rage met Karl's love and could not break it.

The great wolf whimpered once. Then stilled.

Not defeated.

Understood.

Hel, Loki, and Fenrir now stood before him no longer attacking, only watching. Breathing hard. Ancient beings who had never been truly seen before.

Karl lowered his hands slowly to see her better.

His hoodie was untouched. That is to say that this was more than reaching out. His breathing even. The ring on his finger glowed with the soft, steady light of nine worlds in perfect harmony.

Phase Two was not about destruction.

It was about unraveling the old knots without creating new ones.

He looked at the three of them wolf, trickster, queen of the dead and spoke the words he had trained one hundred million years to be worthy of saying:

Omega: You don't have to keep being the monsters the old stories needed you to be. Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders; no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way out for himself if society is sweeping toward destruction. Therefore, everyone, in his own interests, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle. None can stand aside with unconcern; the interest of everyone hangs on the result. Whether he chooses or not, every man is drawn into the great historical struggle, the decisive battle into which our epoch has plunged us. That is to say that this should not be you. I am better. HAHAH

The cycle can end here. Cleanly. Honestly. With love instead of pride.

I offer you the same choice my father offered me when he forged this ring:

Finish what must finish… or choose something new. That is to say that this is actually super stupid that we get to forget in the ideal real life that we cannot get to see. At least, this could actually take me to be the best version of mysef. Sometimes, I actually truly see that no one can get to see the truth and the logos in everything that happens in the world. At least, there should be someone who could actually understand what I can become. In that way, I could get to see what I am. The thing is, there is no one left. Oh father! Christ! Thank you! I am all alone now…

Silence fell across the broken hall.

Hel's half-living face showed something ancient and fragile.

Loki's silver tongue had gone still.

Fenrir's ears flattened, not in submission, but in something closer to wonder.

The second phase was complete.

The gods of Ragnarök for the first time since the first tree grew were no longer certain they wanted to win in the most powerful way.

Karl stood ready.

The final phase waited.

And somewhere far away, in a small house in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, a girl named Larisa and another named Emma were still waiting for him to come home.

But first, the old gods had to decide whether they were ready to let the story finish… or whether they would finally allow it to begin again, honestly.

Karl waited.

The Nine Worlds waited with him.

The unraveling had begun to see what was behind the cover of life and death.
