Chapter 2 - 2. Strength will Come

Keizeix walked through the streets behind his mentor along side Sia noting all the different slave races and shockingly bland colored spiders taking note that most did not have a human torso like his mentor had taught him which he still found odd but understood it had to do with their rank levels not being high enough to allow for the transformation even if they were highly intelligent gaps in power levels were just that important.

He'd even learned that if one got strong enough they could choose to transform fully to a humanoid form but many chose not to as they saw it as a weakness rather than a strength. As they proceded through the city with Shirespoke declaring the names Keizeix and Sia Silversilk to all and to bow to the new princess and princess he found himself feeling rather awkward and taking glimpses over at Sia and her beautiful patterns thinking they seemed rather intricate and extremely unique like someone had purposefully made them that way rather than just chance creation by nature. But then again recalling his own coloration he could say the same about himself. Soon they came to the city gates and saw soldiers armed and ready for battle waiting for them bowed.

"We wait to guide our prince Keizeix and princess Sia to battle for the honor of their first kill!" The commander said bowed on one knee. "Rise!" Commanded Shirespoke "Let us not waste anymore time and take our prince and princess to taste their first blood!"

The soldiers rose in unison "Raa!" They said as one and turned beginning a slow march. "Come." Shirespoke said smiling at them both and began to walk behind the army. Keizeix turned to look at Sia and then began to walk with her following the procession.

They marched for a week taking breaks at night to rest and eat before finally getting to the front line of the southern skirmish.

"Here we are, now its time to put your training to use prince Keizeix and princess Sia. You have shown proficiency in using your bodies as weapons and learning how to dodge and fight. That has been in practice this is real. This is life and death. There will be no holding back it is kill or be killed here. You will either leave here or you won't." He looked at them expectantly. They both bowed and proceeded to walk in front and towards the place they had been shown previously as their position for the unit assigned to them for both protection and assistance in their test and proving that they were worthy of their positions.

Shirespoke watched as they left with Marike and sighed. "Let's hope these two actually survive this time. To many have gotten to this point only to die." He finished with a sigh.

"Yes. But from what you've told me he's showed far more promise than the rest despite his initial timidness. And my ward was far more promising than all of the others combined by a landslide. She mastered everything and learned everything the first time I showed her or taught her. I had to bring in a royal guard to continue her training she learned so fast and even they told me they had nothing more they could teach. In fact the guard left terrified of her after actually being defeated multiple times by her after only a month of training. Shes been practicing on her own for the last month and ahalf."

Shirespoke looked at her again shaking his head. "I still don't believe she could be so terrifyingly talented. If she is really that skilled this should be no issue for her maybe she might even find a way to evolve her small torso form while here?"

Markie looked at him with a proud smile. "I do not doubt that she will. I only fear she may outshine your poor prince to a sad level leaving him in an awkwardly low state." She grinned proudly looking smug.

Shirespoke's eyes glared at her and he put his hands behind his back. "Do not think she will leave my prince so far in the dust and count him out, his potential is just as note worthy." He scoffed attempting a small bluff and exaggeration of the truth not wanting to be outshined by her.

"Ha! Your prince never had a royal guard call him terrifying now did he!" She said smugly and tauntingly. "He did not need one i am a retired soldier myself or did you forget? If I vouch for his abilities it is no different than your soldier." He grinned and looked at her with a smug pride.

She looked at him skeptically with a slight frown. "Yes I'm sure he's got talent but do not think the princess will be outdone by him so easily if at all. I expect he will not hold his head so high when they get back or when their kill counts are revealed later." She turned and walked away towards the princess tent to insure it was fully in order for her return.

"Do not be to shocked." He muttered under his breath as he looked at the fading black spot that was in the distance and now breaking in two as the groups separated. "I sensed a will in him more potent than i think even the Queen realized he possessed. I expect there will be a shock soon that may shake things up abit." He looked at the horizon an undecypherable look on his face. "My lord Keizeix please do not do too much. While we need a strong leader to much can be dangerous." He finished and turned himself to go prepare the prince's tent.

Keizeix watched as their groups separated

And smirked to himself before turning to his soldiers and saying "ok men! Let's have some fun." Then charged forward clicking his fangs and surging towards the front lines in a haste to get his kill count going and level up so he could finally evolve and gain some of his human shape back so he could weird weapons and not have to rely on biting stinging or weaving webs anymore. He wanted to expand his fighting capabilities and quickly to insure his own survival and so he could also eat normally again. Though he'd grown used to it it still pit him off how spiders had to liquify their food with their poison to slurp it down. He wanted to eat real cooked meals again!

As he raced towards the battlefield he saw the humans they were fighting on this front and his first real combat test zone. The humans decked out in knights armor and wizards in the far back reminded him of fictional novels he used to read as a kid and made him smirk. "Oh this looks way to easy now" he said as he quickly curved his back end abit and shot some webbing over his own head and forced it to shoot out in a net like form fast and hard hitting the front line unexpectedly quickly pinning them the the ground right before he hit them and started hitting through their armor killing them and stabbing them with his legs and stinger in a killing frenzy.

Keizeix kept hearing the system repeat with each kill he made as he continued his slaughter.

7 hours later finally feeling exhausted from dodging magic and swords Keizeix slowly backed away his guards surrounding him and pulling him back realizing he had hit his limit and he retreated leaving the main army to fill in and take over.

As they brought him back weary and Tired to his tent Shirespoke took the reporting guards scroll and tucked it away to read it later and began to turn to tend to Keizeix.

10 minutes prior:

Keizeix sighed and closed his eyes allowing himself to sink into the system. "System show me my stats and points please"

Keizeix looked over all his other stats and grinned feeling refreshed from the health boost. "Damn thats not bad for a first day if I do say so myself 7,220 kills? I wonder how the points are alloted for each increase?" He said then closed his eyes and let himself drift off for a short nap.

Shirespoke looked at his master with astonishment as he cleaned all the blood off him and found no cuts on him and quickly finished cleaning his master completely discovering not a single scratch on him and slowly began to grin. "Don't underestimate him indeed. So many hours and not even a single scratch" suddenly he goes to his pocket and quickly reads the battlefield report for his young master and his eyes went wide and he looked back at Keizeix in disbelief.

Battlefield kill report for Keizeix Silversilk:

Keizeix fought with valor often leaving his protective guard behind struggling to keep up as he carved a wide spearhead into enemies forces causing mass panic and slaughtering everything in his wake. After 7 hours of valiant fighting weariness seemed to finally find him and his guard caught up to him and judged it was time to pull him out in a forced retreat to preserve the princes life and honor.

"My god kid i knew I had trained you well but this is more than my highest hopes" Shirespoke grinned wide and held his hand in a triumphant fist. "Let's see how those prissy ladies react to this in the morning" He chuckled and tucked Keizeix in before leaving the tent with a final "Well done young master, well done in deed"
