Chapter 85 - CHAPTER 85

After the female mummy sensed the entry of a living person, she suddenly opened her eyes and stared at Biscuit with malicious eyes. That gaze carried a dense killing intent mixed with Nen pressure, similar to a Nen beast reacting to intruders inside a restricted territory.

The face of the mummified corpse had begun to recover a little fullness, which should be the effect of the life force absorbed by it from those treasure diggers and Nen users who had entered Helian Mountain earlier. In Hunter world terms, it was similar to a cursed Nen entity feeding on aura to stabilize its form. If it truly absorbed enough vitality, it might even reach a pseudo-revival state where consciousness and resentment overlap.

Underneath the mummified body was a broken coffin, cracked and tilted, with residual Nen embedded in its wood and stone structure. From the scattered debris and shifted burial seals around it, it was obvious this hollow was not the original constructed mausoleum. It had likely been displaced when Helian Mountain's terrain was violently altered possibly due to the typhoon mentioned in Feikang Town breaking the original sealing formation similar to how Greed Island cards lose structure when the rule field is disrupted.

And Princess Anna was able to break free of the seal because of this instability in the Nen structure.

Biscuit glanced at the mummy with pity. As a Two-Star Gem Hunter, she had read classified Hunter Association reports about Nen curses formed from emotional post-mortem imprinting. Princess Anna's case was similar to a strong post-death Nen resentment phenomenon, comparable to a lingering Nen curse or even early-stage Nen beast evolution.

Pity was there, but at this point she was no longer human, just a condensed mass of [resentment] and Nen residue.

After stepping into this area, Biscuit immediately activated Gyo (凝) to observe the flow of aura. Qi instantly condensed in her eyes, allowing her to see the layered Nen pathways spreading through the mummy's body, the coffin fragments, and the entire underground structure.

But the next second, Biscuit suddenly froze.

The core of this thing… was the dark gem embedded in the chest of the mummy!

If she read it correctly, the shape of this gem was exactly identical to the Big Sky Stone, one of the Seven Beauties-class rare gemstones. Because the formation conditions of such gemstones are extremely strict, involving natural pressure, mineral rarity, and Nen saturation over long periods, each Big Sky Stone shares a fixed geometric identity that cannot be artificially replicated, similar to how Nen constructs maintain signature consistency.

With the sharp instincts of a veteran gem hunter, Biscuit immediately confirmed there was no trace of artificial carving or Nen fabrication interference. The integration between the gem and the body was too natural, as if it had evolved inside the Nen structure itself.

In other words, the black gem on the chest of the mummy was very likely the Stone of the Sky itself.

Clear sky-like eyes?

But the Big Sky Stone was supposed to reflect purity, clarity, and calm Nen resonance this one had completely turned black, saturated with resentment and corrupted aura.

Biscuit's expression twitched for a moment. After spending so much time traveling, accepting Rimo's "unequal cooperation agreement," and entering this chaotic Helian Mountain situation, the supposed treasure had already been corrupted into something completely different.

The Big Sky Stone originally had been used as a sealing medium by a powerful Nen user from the Hunter Association era to suppress Princess Anna's resentment. However, over hundreds of years, continuous exposure to cursed Nen and emotional residue had overwritten its structure, transforming it into a resentment core and control medium for Helian Mountain's ecosystem.

"Ah !"

Princess Anna suddenly let out a sharp, distorted scream, her gaze locking onto Biscuit.

From her body, dozens of black vine-like Nen conduits shot outward. These were not purely offensive they were extensions of her Nen network, like biological control wires spreading through the mountain, similar to how large-scale Manipulation-type Nen abilities operate across terrain.

Biscuit immediately stabilized her stance.

Ken (堅) activated.

"Clang!"

The collision sounded like metal striking reinforced steel. Biscuit's aura held firm without visible damage.

However, she quickly noticed something.

"These vines… weaker than the external roots."

Indeed, the real destructive force was outside Helian Mountain, where Rimo was currently suppressing massive black roots using his Unlimited Technique, distorting space itself. These inner vines were only structural extensions, not primary attack units.

"Hey Biscuit! Are you done yet?" Rimo's voice came faintly from the entrance, where spatial fluctuations blocked incoming root waves.

"I know! Almost!" Biscuit responded.

Her eyes returned to the mummy core.

The Big Sky Stone was no longer a treasure it had become a cursed Nen nucleus.

Her expression hardened.

If left intact, this thing would continue spreading resentment Nen across the mountain like a parasitic system.

There was only one option.

Destroy it.

Biscuit stepped forward.

The mummy's eyes widened, as if sensing final judgment. The black vines reacted violently, attempting to intercept her, but Biscuit's movement did not slow.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The vines struck her aura defense repeatedly but failed to penetrate.

When she reached the core, Biscuit tightened her fist.

No flashy technique just concentrated Nen reinforcement.

A straight punch landed directly on the dark gem.

"Crack !"

A fracture spread instantly across its surface.

"Shhhhhh !"

The mummy emitted a final distorted scream, like the collapse of accumulated resentment.

"Crack!!"

The Stone of the Sky shattered completely.

At that moment, all black vines lost structural cohesion. Their Nen circuits collapsed, turning gray and disintegrating into ash-like particles. The mummy's body followed, breaking apart as the resentment core was erased.

"Rest in peace…" Biscuit said quietly, her tone softer than usual despite her tough exterior.

Outside the chamber, Rimo's spatial suppression of black roots suddenly eased, confirming the core had been destroyed.

He leaned casually at the cave entrance. "Done?"

"Yeah," Biscuit replied, exhaling.

Nion peeked from Rimo's arms, tilting her head. "Wow… auntie became sister again…"

A vein popped on Biscuit's forehead instantly.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING AUNTIE?! I'M FORTY-FOUR YEARS OLD!!"

 Rimo immediately burst into laughter.

"HAHAHAHA "

The cave finally fell into calm silence as Helian Mountain's Nen disturbance began to settle.
