Aria looked directly into West's eyes.
"And the worst part…" her voice cracked again. "…was that after a while, when enough days passed, we started wondering if maybe he was right."
West immediately stepped forward and pulled her into his arms again.
West held her tightly as Aria broke down. "You should have never believed him."
"I know."
"I was always coming."
Aria nodded against his chest. "I know that now."
West closed his eyes while Liz stood beside them, looking as though she wanted to say something. The eyes surrounding them made her relectuant to show her feelings because it wasn't a secret that she had a fiancée.
Then suddenly, she stepped forward too, deciding to throw all that to the back of her mind and worry less. She was just given a second chance at life and she wasn't about to spend it holding back.
Liz's lips trembled. "I was scared, West."
His expression softened. "I know."
"No."
Liz shook her head. "You don't understand."
