"Yes," Miss Skynet continued, "Coulson's team found an old house in Puerto Rico based on the last signal from Skye's communicator. However, only traces of a struggle were left at the scene, with no signs of how anyone left."
"After receiving Coulson's request for help, I conducted a comprehensive search through the global surveillance network and satellite systems, but found no trace of Miss Skye."
"It's as if she vanished into thin air," Miss Skynet added.
After listening to Miss Skynet's report, Homelander fell into silence.
He leaned against the headboard without saying a word, his brain quickly retrieving information regarding this matter.
Seeing Homelander's furrowed brow, Jessica thought he was worried about the safety of that little girl, Skye.
Although Jessica couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy—Homelander seemed to have always given this girl named Skye special attention.
But having found her way back to him, she never wanted to see Homelander sad again.
"Don't worry too much," Jessica said softly, placing her hand over the back of Homelander's, offering comfort.
"No traces, no clues of leaving..." Jessica rubbed her chin, beginning to analyze the situation calmly based on her past experience as a detective.
"This doesn't sound like an ordinary kidnapping."
"I suspect it's highly likely the work of a Superhuman with teleportation abilities. That person kidnapped Skye directly through a portal to a hidden location without any electronic surveillance. That's why Skynet's global network can't find her."
Jessica crossed her arms and added, "I gave Skye a Vought tactical support watch. If her vital signs become abnormal or if she manually triggers the alarm, we'll receive a message immediately."
"Since the alarm hasn't been triggered, it means she's not in immediate mortal danger. Or rather, the person who took her didn't do it to kill her."
"Can you track the location of that watch?" Jessica looked at Miss Skynet.
"I cannot," Miss Skynet replied. "The watch's positioning signal has been completely cut off. Miss Skye's current location likely has an extremely strong signal-jamming field."
Jessica frowned; this made things difficult. Earth was so vast that searching for a shielded area that even Skynet couldn't scan was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Meanwhile, on the surface, Homelander appeared to be listening intently to Jessica's analysis.
In reality, his mind was on something else entirely.
He was trying hard to recall the plot details of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
To be honest, because so much had happened lately, he had pushed the character of Skye to the back of his mind.
Now, prompted by Jessica, some blurry memories slowly began to surface.
"Skye... terrigen crystals... Inhumans..."
He quickly pieced these keywords together in his mind. Soon, he remembered the real reason for Skye's disappearance.
She wasn't kidnapped at all.
Presumably, while the S.H.I.E.L.D. team was tracking the obelisk, Skye accidentally came into contact with a Terrigen Crystal, triggering her Inhuman awakening.
Then, she was taken to that Inhuman village called 'Afterlife' by Gordon, the eyeless Inhuman with teleportation powers!
He wasn't worried about Skye's safety; after all, not only would she be safe there, but she would also meet her biological mother, Jiaying.
It was just that Homelander really couldn't remember the exact location of that Inhuman village.
He only vaguely recalled that the place was covered by natural mountain barriers and powerful electronic shielding equipment, making it invisible to satellites.
Furthermore, the village had no conventional entrance or exit; coming and going relied entirely on that Inhuman named Gordon's teleportation.
Thinking of this, Homelander made a plan.
He looked at Jessica.
"Jessica, you're relatively sensitive to spatial energy fluctuations."
"Go to the scene of Skye's disappearance yourself and see if you can detect any residual energy trails left by spatial teleportation."
"No problem, leave it to me."
Jessica agreed decisively. She turned and walked to the wardrobe, quickly changing into her suit.
"I'll be back soon." Jessica walked to the bedside, leaned down, and gave Homelander a firm kiss on the lips before activating her power.
With a "swish," Jessica's figure vanished instantly.
The room became quiet once again.
Homelander looked at Miss Skynet, who was still standing motionless to the side, and spoke.
"Is there anything else to report?"
"Yes, sir," Miss Skynet reported. "There has been a breakthrough regarding Baron Strucker's laboratory in the Alps."
"The replication work for Compound V has now reached a 98.5% match."
Homelander raised an eyebrow.
"98.5%? What are we waiting for with that last 1.5%?"
With genetic serums like this, a tiny miss is as good as a mile.
"The remaining 1.5% is the most critical gene chain fusion stage. Baron Strucker stated in his report that to ensure the compound's stability and eliminate the risk of high-fatality mutations, he needs a final batch of large-scale live human experiments to lock in the perfect formula ratio."
"Live experiments?" Homelander said dismissively. "How many people are left on that list of war criminal descendants I had you compile?"
"There is still one batch, sir." Miss Skynet quickly searched the database. "There are seven hundred and thirty-one remaining, currently under our secret surveillance and ready to be rounded up at any time."
"Very good."
Homelander nodded. "Pack all of them up and transport them secretly to the lab in the Alps. Tell Strucker that this is the final batch of experimental subjects he wanted."
"Understood, sir."
"Once the experiments are complete, dispose of all those subjects cleanly. I don't want to see any survivors, nor do I want any intact corpses left behind."
Homelander added.
"As you wish, sir. I will arrange for a cleanup crew to follow up." Miss Skynet bowed her head and recorded the command.
With the report finished, Miss Skynet bowed slightly, preparing to leave.
"If there's nothing else, I'll go arrange the transport work now, sir."
"Wait a moment."
Homelander's voice came from behind her.
Miss Skynet stopped and turned around, a hint of inquiry in her eyes.
Homelander stepped forward to stand in front of Miss Skynet, his gaze roaming over her body without restraint.
"When you came in just now, you interrupted my mood." Homelander reached out and grabbed the collar of Miss Skynet's uniform, pulling her close to him.
He lowered his head, his lips pressed against Miss Skynet's ear.
"Then the unfinished business that follows... you shall be the one to continue it."
A charming smile instantly bloomed on Miss Skynet's beautiful face.
She reached out her arms, wrapping them around Homelander's neck like water snakes.
"More than willing, my sir."
