Chapter 567 - Beş Yüz Altmış Yedi

"Hey, what's with these facial expressions? I merely gave an early retirement to a test subject who was going to die anyway, why are you so angry?"

The slant-eyed man calling himself Chief Researcher White Well was acting as if the orcs angered by his show of brutality had given the most unnecessary reaction in the world, and after these words, it was impossible for Alyon to restrain himself.

"You kill an orc in front of me and then don't hesitate to say such nonsense. Let alone this energy barrier, even if the strongest shield in the world came, it couldn't protect you from me!"

Chief Alyon tossed his axe aside and took his war hammer into his hand; he was about to take action to break the energy barrier shaped as a massive glass, but the things the man in the white coat on the other side had to say weren't finished.

"Do the orcs dying in the place you call the Orc Military Academy die behind your back, Chief Alyon?"

White Well was one step ahead and continuing his insolent words. Alyon's teeth were chattering, his eyebrows were clashing like two mortal enemies, but he still hadn't been able to give an answer to the short man's question.

"How many orcs died to be like that warrior who moves faster than any orc has ever achieved? Ten, a hundred, a thousand, or tens of thousands?"

When the man taking his glasses out of the pocket of his white coat unhurriedly put them on, his eyes resembling a thin line widened a bit. They hadn't compared the things they saw until they came to the lowest floor of facility number 731 with the casualties in their lands; number six of the Nameless Ten immediately objected to the example given over himself.

"My compatriots worked to become stronger, to carry themselves and our race forward. They knew there could be death at the end of this road, they lived the consequence of their own choices!"

"Well, couldn't they have chosen this road because they knew they would live like an insect at the lowest stratum of society? Even if you managed to learn an ability not suiting your own physiology, you are not a Power Animal owner; is it very fair that you are forced to risk your life to possess some things?

If you say they strived to advance, to improve their race, I am doing nothing else here either. Just as the Orc Military Academy chooses only those who will be useful to it, I am doing the exact same. I just don't allow them to kill themselves, that's all!"

"Shut up! Don't spread your lies around with your forked tongue!"

"Lie? Know your place Orc Chief, you have a Scientist before you. You are not talking to a barbarian orc who learned how to eat a few years ago. I do not speak about anything without proof, anything not proven by observation and experiment!"

White Well, who had maintained his calmness until that moment, was enraged, despite this, he didn't lose his politeness. His attitude made it difficult to believe he was the person responsible for all this brutality.

"Where is the proof? We haven't seen anything other than the massacre of orcs since we entered your facility!"

Bookworm was speaking for the first time after a long while. He didn't have a thesis to refute his previous claims, but he could question White Well about what they just heard.

"This is the approach I am looking for; questioning instead of accusing will take science one step further. I knew I made the right decision choosing you instead of your brother or your father!"

Bookworm, looking the man up and down from under the hood of his purple robe, began to spread his signature purple poison energy after the last words; he was on the job to pierce the transparent energy shield like glass from a single point. Alyon, seeing his son start attacking, also understood the talking phase was over, and the Nameless Ten members were ready to follow their chief's path.

"You still haven't understood your futile efforts will remain inconclusive, have you? You will not help me bring your race to perfection in your stead of your own free will; it seems I will have to show you some failed results of my personal researches!"

White Well pressed the two hazelnut-sized buttons of the remote appearing in his hand at the same time. While unlocking sounds echoed in the empty area, the creaks of the doors with iron bars followed them. The orcs they stared at before were now free, and they had gone on the attack without saying anything.

"Be careful!"

"Your priority is protecting yourselves, do not hesitate while fighting!"

The orcs coming out of the cages were reaching the ground one by one; the group occupying the facility split into three. The Nameless Ten retreated to one corner, Bookworm to one corner, Alyon towards the platform. If they stayed in the same place, they would easily be surrounded by the orcs whose numbers reached a hundred, and there was a chance of harming their friends while their powers were side by side, especially for Bookworm this possibility was very high.

The orcs springing out of the cages were imitating them too; they continued to attack by splitting into three, but there was something weird about this. It was obvious without a doubt that they were orcs with their green skins, their front teeth overflowing from their mouths, but some of their physical features were weird, to say the least.

For instance, Alyon was seeing an orc possessing a body larger than himself for the first time, and this creature almost twice his size was advancing towards him with heavy steps. Some of the orcs passing between his legs were running on all fours, while some were advancing by hopping.

The same scene could be observed where the Nameless Ten were too. Number Four, not knowing how to parry the swing of his compatriot who could carry three axes along with the third arm coming out of his belly, had barely escaped with a superficial cut.

"These are not the orcs you know, they are all death machines straight out of the hands of that maniac! Have no mercy, kill them all!"

While Bookworm shouted to make the Nameless Ten in amazement take action, he also sent his poison energy onto the enemy. From the right side golden sands, from the left side a purple smoke cloud was advancing, but the orcs freed from their cages continued to attack fearlessly.

When they met the attacks a few seconds later, the reason for their audacity became clear; neither the crushing force of the golden sands nor the corrosive effect of the poison energy could manage to penetrate their skins. The exposed places of their bodies like eyes, ears, and noses were covered with green skin; it was as if they were specially designed to be protected from these attacks.

"King Cobra, crush them!"

Springing from the tattoo on his right wrist and passing over the flocking orc crowd, King Cobra had literally wrecked the place. When it came back and stood behind Bookworm, its majesty was dazzling, but why was there no blood on the ground?

When those crushed by the Power Animal just a moment ago stood up one by one, the question was answered. The assault weapons Bookworm possessed didn't work on them. The same event applied to the Nameless Ten too; only their Leader and Deputy Leader had managed to injure the attacking group.

"Lineage Power - Lord's Wrath!"

Alyon didn't shy away from taking responsibility when they hit a dead end. The pitch-black aura radiating from his body scattered in all directions and began to suppress the orcs who had developed new features due to the experiments conducted on them.

"Ah, here is an ability I couldn't obtain!"

White Well couldn't remain indifferent in the face of Alyon's Lineage Power while watching the war, but judging by his comfortable speaking, the shield separating the two sides could also block the dark aura of the orc chief.

"Don't think I am jealous, while having the seeds purchased during the time of the previous Orc Lord in my hand, having achieved this much satisfies me, but why shouldn't I possess more? For example, if I used an orc possessing Lineage Power as a test subject, I wonder what I could achieve?"

The Chief Researcher of facility number 731, after waiting for a few seconds with his finger he brought over a different button he hadn't pressed before on the remote in his hand, pressed down. The energy shields separating the Orc Empire forces fighting in three different areas rose at that moment, and Alyon's Lineage Power was trapped only in the area surrounding him.

"You are someone who both possesses Lineage Power and comes from the same lineage as the Khan of the Orc Empire, and moreover, has experienced bodily metamorphosis before, Bookworm. I can't wait to work on you!"
