Chapter 197 - CHAPTER 197: THE FALLEN METEOR

CHAPTER 197: THE FALLEN METEOR

CRACK!

The ultimate flash of sword light was like purple thunder appearing in the sky, piercing through the heavens themselves!

Ittoryu. Iai. Lion's Song. This style was originally designed to pursue the ultimate speed—the instant of drawing and slashing. The enemy couldn't even hear the sound of the blade leaving its sheath. It was a truly silent sword. A truly deadly sword.

A sword strike like thunder. A sword strike like lightning.

"What speed!"

Even the Third Tsuchikage Onoki, a shadow-level expert with senses honed over decades, felt a fatal crisis in that moment. His instincts screamed. He abandoned the stone golem instantly, his years of combat experience guiding his body in a panicked evasion.

The next moment, the massive stone golem split apart. A crack of purple light erupted from its center, and the entire construct dislocated and collapsed into rubble.

Tsuchikage Onoki's figure emerged from the chaos, looking slightly disheveled. Though he had narrowly avoided the direct strike, a piece of his clothing had been torn away. And on his shoulder—a conspicuous mark of blood.

The majestic Tsuchikage was injured!

Earlier, White Fang had sliced a corner from his god robe. That had already cost him face. But White Fang stood at the pinnacle of the ninja world. He had been famous for decades. His reputation was legendary.

But Rakshasa? Rakshasa had only just become famous. He was a boy—barely more than a child in appearance.

And now this boy had drawn blood. This was not merely a loss of face. This was shame. This was humiliation.

Ragnar's figure solidified behind the collapsed stone golem. He held Yama in one hand, still maintaining the drawing-and-slashing posture. Then, in a single fluid motion, he sheathed the blade. Completed. Finished.

At this moment, an extreme edge surged from his body. He was like a sword that could pierce the sky itself—capable of killing anything in its path.

From the distant battlefield, the remaining forces could see everything clearly. They witnessed Onoki's shoulder being slashed.

"Lord Tsuchikage... was injured?!"

"That's impossible!"

Some of the surviving Iwa ninja wore expressions of pure horror. Disbelief warred with despair on their faces.

At this moment, their faces were ashen. Even the Tsuchikage couldn't gain an advantage. And they themselves had just been harvested by their own leader's Dust Release moments ago. Their will had completely sunk. There was no saving it now.

"Demoralized troops are doomed to defeat!"

Kage Assistant Onihei looked at his ninja—their spirits broken, their eyes hollow—and understood this truth deeply. Though he had advocated surrender, the Tsuchikage continued fighting. And his subordinates... they sighed one by one. There was no willingness left in their hearts. Only the final madness of despair.

Why was Iwa Ninja Village defeated? Why wasn't it Konoha suffering this fate?

He shouted loudly, forcing conviction into his voice:

"Lord Tsuchikage simply used too much Dust Release earlier! He cannot use it again for a short period—that's why this happened!"

"When Lord Tsuchikage recovers, no Konoha ninja—White Fang or Rakshasa—will be a match for him!"

"Lord Tsuchikage will definitely lead us to victory!"

An Iwa Jonin couldn't help but laugh bitterly. "Onihei-sama... even you don't believe what you're saying."

"How many times have we been defeated since this war began?"

"How many of my brothers have been killed by Rakshasa?"

His words were not angry. They were simply... resigned.

Onihei's body stiffened. His expression went numb. Yes. Even I don't believe it.

In the distance, the injured Tsuchikage Onoki's expression grew calmer. No fluctuations remained on his face. But the murderous intent in his heart was overwhelming.

He glanced at Ragnar, then suddenly controlled his body and flew upward into the sky.

He understood now. He could not fight Ragnar in close combat. Ragnar's sword skills were comparable to White Fang's—it was entirely possible for him to deliver a killing strike with a single cut.

If I keep my distance...

Ragnar watched the Tsuchikage gradually leave the ground. He exhaled slowly.

"You should be able to use that move now."

High above, Onoki was thinking as well. His eyes burned as he stared down at the boy below.

I can only release Dust Release once more in this state. It takes time to gather the chakra. But this time—this time, I will destroy him.

Dust Release was certainly powerful. But combining three chakra attributes required enormous chakra reserves. Using it was like entering Sage Mode—it took time to accumulate. And once used, recovery was slow.

This next strike will end him.

Ragnar called up, his voice carrying easily in the silence: "Flying so high. It seems you enjoy standing in high places, Third Tsuchikage."

"Standing high allows one to see far." Onoki's voice floated down, cold and distant. "This is the perspective of a Kage. Something a villain like you—drenched in blood—could never understand. People like you are filled with sin. Just like the Uchiha. Your very existence in this world is a sin."

Ragnar didn't take the words seriously. He had reached this point through countless battles. His will was unwavering—a few insults wouldn't change that. He replied calmly:

"So have you ever fallen from that height?"

"Never." Onoki's answer was immediate. Absolute.

Ragnar smiled—a cold, sharp expression. "One of the things I enjoy most is bringing masters like you—who look down on everything from above—down from this dirty, evil world."

"That depends on whether you have the ability!" Onoki's eyes narrowed, radiating danger.

"Then watch."

Ragnar began walking toward the Iwa ninja ranks. Step by step. Deliberate. Unstoppable.

The Iwa ninja panicked. They scattered in all directions, fleeing from his path. But no one dared attack. No one dared challenge. They were paralyzed—dry-mouthed, cold-sweating, utterly terrified.

Ragnar stopped. He took the sheathed Yama and drove its scabbard into the ground.

BOOM!

A dull sound echoed—thick, heavy, suffocating.

Beneath the scabbard, a force of gravity emerged. The earth cratered. A massive pit formed where he stood.

And at the same moment, every Iwa ninja within range felt their bodies suddenly multiply in weight! They were already tense, already terrified, their wills already crushed.

They offered almost no resistance. One by one, they collapsed to the ground, faces pressed into the dirt. Held down by an invisible force. Unable to move.

Even Kage Assistant Onihei—strong enough to resist—found himself pinned. He could struggle, theoretically. But what was the point? The outcome was already determined.

At this moment, they were the walking dead. Their minds had collapsed long ago.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" The Third Tsuchikage's roar shook the sky as he witnessed this scene.

"What a show."

Then Ragnar lifted Yama. Wispy purple light overflowed from the blade's surface.

Somehow, somewhere, the rules of reality seemed to shift. Something changed.

Onoki felt wrongness crawling up his spine. He didn't understand where this sense of crisis came from—but it was overwhelming.

"Have you ever seen the power of a god?"

With these words, Ragnar swept Yama toward the sky. A beam of gravity light shot upward—racing beyond the clouds, beyond sight, into the heavens themselves.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Onoki's voice cracked with alarm.

Ragnar only smiled.

Then, slowly, his body left the ground. He floated into the air, rising to meet the Tsuchikage on his own level.

"Look! Look up there!"

A Sunagakure ninja's voice pierced the silence, trembling with pure terror.

Thousands of meters high in the sky—a flaming meteor had appeared. It was falling. Racing toward the earth with unstoppable momentum.

Onoki looked up.

His eyes went wide with horror.
