ADRIAN'S POV
I felt it before I saw anything.
A sharp, violent pull in my chest—like someone had wrapped their hand around my heart and twisted.
I froze mid-step.
The hallway blurred.
"Kiss…" I whispered.
Then I ran.
I burst through the hospital doors just as the wind slapped my face—and that's when I saw the car.
Black. Sleek. Wrong.
It was already moving.
"No," I breathed.
My feet hit the ground hard as I sprinted forward.
"KISS!"
My voice echoed uselessly into the open air.
Rain began to fall—slow at first, like hesitation.
The car accelerated.
"STOP!" I shouted, chasing it like a man possessed.
My lungs burned. My chest screamed. My legs begged me to stop.
But I didn't.
I couldn't.
"Kiss, please—" my voice cracked. "Please!"
For a split second, I saw her.
Just a shape.
A shadow behind tinted glass.
And then—
Gone.
The car disappeared into traffic, swallowing her whole.
I stopped.
The world tilted.
"No…" my knees hit the ground hard.
"No, no, no…"
The rain came down harder now, soaking through my clothes, my skin, my soul.
My fists trembled as they slammed into the wet pavement.
"I was right there," I choked.
"I was right there…"
Thunder roared overhead, violent and unforgiving.
I tilted my head back and screamed her name.
"KISSSSS!"
The sound ripped through me, raw and animalistic.
Tears burned my eyes.
"I promised you," I sobbed.
"I promised I wouldn't let anyone take you."
Hands grabbed me.
"Adrian!" Isaac's voice broke through the storm.
I barely reacted.
"She's gone," I whispered, empty.
"They took her."
Oscar crouched beside me, rain dripping down his face.
"We'll find her," he said urgently.
I laughed—hollow, broken.
"Find her?" I looked at him with shattered eyes.
"I couldn't even hold on to her."
Isaac pulled me up roughly.
"You are not dying here," he said fiercely.
"Your children need you."
That word snapped something inside me.
"My children…"
Oscar swallowed.
"They couldn't take them. Security locked down the ward."
I closed my eyes.
Just for a moment.
A fraction of relief seeped in.
Then guilt crushed it.
"She woke up alone," I whispered.
"And I wasn't there."
GOODWILL MANSION
The moment I walked in, silence fell.
My grandmother stood first.
"Where is she?"
I couldn't look at her.
"They took her."
Augustina gasped, her hand flying to her mouth.
"No…" she whispered.
My father stood slowly.
"Who would dare?"
I clenched my fists.
"Someone who knows blood."
My grandmother's knees nearly gave out.
"Bring her back," she said, voice trembling.
"Bring my girl home."
I turned to Oscar.
"Burn the world if you have to," I said quietly.
"But find my wife."
Oscar nodded.
"Yes, boss."
HOSPITAL – NIGHT
I stood in front of the glass, staring at two tiny bodies.
So small.
So fragile.
"My babies," I whispered.
I placed my palm against the glass.
"I failed her," I told them softly.
"But I won't fail you."
My grandmother stood beside me.
"She will return," she said with conviction.
"Love like yours doesn't end in silence."
I swallowed hard.
"I don't know how to live without her."
She squeezed my arm.
"Then don't," she replied.
"Go get her."
KISS'S POV
The first thing I felt was cold.
Then silk.
Then the weight of confusion pressing down on my chest.
I opened my eyes slowly.
Gold ceilings.
White curtains.
Crystal light refracting everywhere.
"This isn't…" my voice trembled.
"…the hospital."
I tried to sit up.
Pain flared.
"Where am I?"
The door opened quietly.
My breath caught.
"Mom?"
She stood there like a memory that refused to fade.
"Good," she said calmly. "You're awake."
My heart began to race.
"My babies," I whispered urgently.
"Where are my babies?"
She didn't answer immediately.
I knew then.
"You didn't bring them," I said, tears welling.
Her jaw tightened.
"I couldn't."
Something inside me shattered.
"You stole me," I cried.
"You drugged me—took me away from my husband!"
"You were dying!" she snapped suddenly.
"And so were your children!"
"No," I screamed back.
"They survived because of him!"
Her eyes flickered at Adrian's name.
"He loves me," I sobbed.
"He would have protected me!"
"You are not weak," she said firmly.
"You are a Wilson."
"I am a Goodwill," I shouted.
"I chose that life!"
She stepped closer.
"You were born a crown princess."
I laughed bitterly.
"And what did that crown give me?"
"An empty childhood and a missing mother?"
She flinched.
"I lost you once," she whispered.
"You lost me the day you walked away," I replied through tears.
She reached for my face.
I slapped her hand away.
"Send me back," I begged.
"Please… my babies need me."
Her eyes softened—but her voice stayed hard.
"You will go back," she said.
"But strong enough that no one can ever touch you again."
I shook my head.
"I don't want power," I cried.
"I want love."
She turned toward the door.
"You'll understand," she said quietly.
"Even if you hate me."
The door closed.
I collapsed onto the bed, sobbing.
"Adrian…" I whispered into the silence.
"Please don't let go of me."
Somewhere deep inside—
I felt him.
And I knew—
This separation would change everything.
