Chapter 59 - CHAPTER 59: GIFTS OF LIFE AND SILENT BLESSINGS

Two months passed faster than I expected.

Life settled into a rhythm that felt unreal—peaceful mornings, shared laughter, quiet nights, and a happiness so steady it sometimes scared me. There were no wars to fight, no enemies at the gate. Just love growing quietly in every corner of our lives.

And today—

Today belonged to Isaac and Augustina.

The wedding was nothing short of magical.

The venue glowed under soft golden lights, flowers cascading from every archway, laughter weaving through the air like music.

Augustina looked radiant—her pregnancy glow undeniable—as she walked down the aisle, eyes locked on Isaac like he was the only man left in the world.

When they exchanged vows, I found myself crying before I even realized it.

"You're emotional," Adrian murmured beside me, leaning close.

I smiled without looking at him. "I'm happy."

His hand tightened around mine, warm and steady. "So am I."

The applause was thunderous when Isaac kissed his bride, the room erupting in cheers and whistles. Grandma dabbed at her eyes dramatically.

"Another grandchild secured," she declared loudly, making everyone laugh.

But my heart was pounding for a different reason.

The secret pressed against my ribs, heavy and warm.

THE RECEPTION

Music filled the hall as the celebration shifted into laughter, dancing, and endless congratulations. Glasses clinked, cameras flashed, and joy danced freely among us.

I watched Adrian from across the room—handsome, relaxed, laughing with his father and Isaac's parents. This was his world, and for the first time, I felt like I truly belonged in it.

I took a breath.

Now.

I walked toward him slowly, my heels echoing softly against the marble floor. He turned as if he felt me coming.

"Hey," he said, smiling. "You disappeared."

I slipped my hand into his jacket pocket gently. "I have something for you."

His brows furrowed. "Now?"

I nodded. "Now."

Curiosity flickered across his face as he pulled out the folded envelope.

He opened it.

Then froze.

The smile vanished. His breath caught.

The world seemed to stop around us.

Adrian stared at the ultrasound images like they might disappear if he blinked.

"Kiss…" His voice was barely above a whisper. "What is this?"

I crossed my arms lightly, trying—and failing—not to laugh. "You tell me."

His eyes snapped up to mine, wide with disbelief. "Are you—?"

"Yes."

The word barely left my lips before he dragged me into his arms.

Gasps echoed around us.

"What?" Isaac shouted from across the room. "What happened?"

Adrian pulled back just enough to stare at me again, his expression completely unguarded. "When? How? Why didn't you—"

I laughed then, full and free. "Slow down."

The family began to gather, sensing something big.

Grandma leaned in, peering at the photos. "Is that what I think it is?"

Augustina's eyes widened. "Oh my God—Kiss!"

I nodded, suddenly shy under their gazes.

Adrian ran a hand through his hair, laughing breathlessly. "This—this doesn't make sense. You didn't say anything. You weren't sick. You—"

Augustina stepped forward with a smug smile. "Because I caught it."

Everyone turned to her.

"I noticed her breasts," she said casually.

I choked. "Augustina!"

She laughed. "Relax! They were fuller. Heavier. Just like mine."

The hall erupted in laughter.

Isaac groaned. "Why do you know these things?"

"Because I'm observant andalso pregnant," she shot back. "I told her to take a test. She did. And here we are."

Adrian stared at me again, softer now. "You knew for how long?"

"Just a few days," I said gently. "I wanted today to be about them. And then… I wanted to surprise you."

His eyes glistened.

"You succeeded," he said quietly.

He kissed my forehead, then my temple, then pulled me close again as applause broke out around us.

"To babies!" Isaac shouted.

"To family!" Grandma added.

"And to love," Adrian finished, his hand resting protectively on my stomach.

The night continued in warmth and celebration, music louder, laughter brighter—our happiness spilling freely into the world.

FAR AWAY IN SWITZERLAND

Elizabeth Wilson stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, a glass of wine cradled in her hand.

The Alps stretched endlessly before her, cold and majestic.

Her phone rested on the table behind her.

The news echoed in her mind.

My daughter is pregnant.

Emotion tightened her chest, sharp and sweet all at once.

"So," her mother said gently from behind her, "you'll be a grandmother."

Elizabeth smiled faintly, eyes glistening. "Yes."

"But you won't go to her yet," her mother said softly, already knowing.

Elizabeth shook her head. "Not now. Not until the time is right."

She inhaled deeply, steadying herself.

"But she should know she's loved."

She turned and picked up her phone.

"Send a gift," she instructed calmly. "Something beautiful. No name. Just blessings."

Her mother smiled. "She'll feel it."

Elizabeth looked back out at the mountains, a tear slipping free.

"Grow safely, my grandchild," she whispered. "I'll come… when the world is ready."
