Chapter 141: The Lineup of Both Sides Is Determined
"Is it really that sure? Are you still angry about what happened with the Marines?"
Whitebeard moved closer to Yuichi, his massive frame casting a shadow. "Can you tell this old man? What is it that made an excellent brat like you leave the Marines and destroy the Naval Headquarters building?"
The question made Yuichi's expression turn slightly uncomfortable. He gave Whitebeard a cold look. "Can't you guess?"
Hearing this, Whitebeard smiled. He had guessed, of course. Even if Yuichi didn't say it aloud, he was ninety percent sure. The Tailed Beast inside the kid was likely the reason he left the Marines. That was Whitebeard's first thought upon meeting Yuichi.
Still, he had wanted to hear it from Yuichi himself. But since the boy didn't want to talk about it, and likely held a grudge against the Marines, Whitebeard decided not to push his luck.
Ten minutes passed quickly.
The Fourth World War was about to begin.
Before the official start, a strange figure appeared on the screen broadcasting to the Pirate World. In a certain room, a white-haired old man sat with a serious expression, staring at a small light screen in front of him.
To ordinary people, this person was quite unfamiliar. Few could even guess why he had suddenly appeared.
However, the image on the other side showed the Five Kages of the Ninja World. Sitting around a round table, the Five Kages were discussing who should be sent to fight. Each of them had a small screen in front of them.
It seemed that no single Kage could unilaterally choose the combatants. After someone nominated a candidate, it required confirmation from the others. In other words, the roster wouldn't be finalized until all five agreed.
Seeing this, Yuichi found it very interesting.
The system integrating all worlds could actually adapt its rules to suit this new force, the Five Kages Alliance. When the time came for his alliance with the Four Emperors to decide on combatants, it would likely be the same process.
If that was the case, it was good news. At least for the time being, there was no need to compete for the dominant position within the alliance. Aligning with the Four Emperors was already difficult enough. Yuichi wanted to be the leader, but he knew the other Emperors—even Whitebeard—were unlikely to agree easily. The best solution was to share the right to speak equally.
Of course, Yuichi was confident he would lead the Four Emperors Alliance eventually, but it was too early for that.
While the Ninja World was being negotiated by the Five Kages, the person responsible for selecting the candidates for the Pirate World was the gray-haired old man. He seemed to be in good spirits, an inexplicable majesty exuding from his brows.
Yuichi naturally recognized him.
Whitebeard looked at the figure on the screen. "Kong! Sengoku is gone. It seems that because of your actions, the Marines have undergone a major change. Even this old monster was called out!"
Kong.
The World Government Commander-in-Chief, holding a rank higher than Fleet Admiral Sengoku. Apart from the Five Elders and Im, Kong's status was the highest. Now, he had replaced the Fleet Admiral to select the candidates for the battle.
It was clear that the current Marines were being directly led by Kong. Sengoku had lost his position. Although the World Government hadn't announced it yet, the appearance of this image would lead the newspapers to analyze the situation quickly. These people weren't idiots.
Fleet Admiral Sengoku dismissed, Naval Headquarters destroyed, and Yuichi defected. The chain of events would soon be exposed. Whether the World Government and the Marines could silence the public would depend entirely on the outcome of this war.
[The Fourth World War officially begins]
[Candidates from both parties are being sent into the arena]
Swish, swish, swish!
The image on the light curtain changed, and a dense, ancient jungle came into view. The trees in this forest were colossal; even the small bushes stood three or four meters high. Fighting in such a place would require immense observation and perception skills.
The candidates sent by the Ninja World appeared. Among them, the five S-class combatants worthy of attention were not the Five Kages themselves.
Instead, they were:
• Konoha: Kakashi Hatake
• Konoha: Tsunade
• Mist Village: Utakata (Six Tails Jinchūriki)
• Stone Village: Roshi (Four Tails Jinchūriki)
• Cloud Village: Killer Bee (Eight Tails Jinchūriki)
Just seeing these five people allowed Yuichi to understand the Five Kages' plan.
Kakashi Hatake was strong, especially in this terrain. He had a diverse fighting style. As the Copy Ninja who had copied thousands of jutsu, he could go 50-50 against almost any enemy. However, Kakashi was likely not the main offensive force here; his role would be support or stalling enemies.
Tsunade was the medic.
The other three were all Jinchūriki, possessing terrifying, monstrous destructive power. They were the main battle force.
Yuichi was surprised to see such a ratio. Ninjas were indeed experts at group battles.
Following them were ten A-class combatants, a lineup that made Yuichi feel the One Piece World had little hope of winning.
• Konoha: The Ino-Shika-Cho Trio (Shikaku Nara, Choza Akimichi, Inoichi Yamanaka).
These three were Konoha Jōnin. Individually, their combat ability wasn't overwhelming, but their teamwork was legendary. Even S-class combatants would struggle against them. Furthermore, Inoichi could sense enemy positions and transmit the situation of the entire battlefield to all ninjas telepathically.
• Mist Village: Ao.
Although the Mist only sent one support, Ao's Byakugan could track enemy movements perfectly. If Inoichi was responsible for long-distance sensing, Ao would handle short-range observation.
• Stone Village: Kitsuchi, Kurotsuchi, Akatsuchi.
The father and daughter duo, along with Akatsuchi, were masters of Earth Style. They could easily divide the battlefield and control the terrain.
• Cloud Village: Darui, Samui, Atsui.
An extremely powerful trio of Cloud Jōnin. Their coordination was strong. In this terrain, small-scale skirmishes suited them perfectly.
As for the remaining twenty B-class personnel, Yuichi didn't know all of them, but the ratio suggested they were chosen for coordination rather than raw power. The selection by the Five Kages was excellent.
On the Pirate World side, however...
Although Kong was the Commander-in-Chief, the people he chose—or rather, the people selected according to the will of the Five Elders—confused Yuichi greatly.
The B-class forces were a group of Marine Rear Admirals, likely loyalists to the World Government. The same was true for the Vice Admirals representing the A-class combat effectiveness. Only one of the Vice Admirals was a Headquarters officer Yuichi was familiar with.
As for the S-class power: Akainu and Kizaru were present, but Aokiji was missing. In his place were two Admiral Candidates: Tokikake (Chaton) and Gion (Momousagi), plus a mysterious soldier codenamed "X". This person was obviously not a Marine; he covered his face as if he didn't want to be recognized.
Looking at this lineup, Yuichi found it ridiculous.
Were the Five Elders overwhelmed by their previous victories? Sending these people to fight completely ignored the nature of the Ninja World. It felt as if they believed sending random strong fighters would ensure victory.
If they underestimated ninjas this badly, they would die miserably.
