"Yuki-chan is mine, and its owner will also be mine eventually."
I hear those words through my All-Seeing Eye and feel my skin get goosebumps immediately.
"Crap... another crazy one."
I mutter while rubbing my face with both hands.
That girl definitely has some loose screws in her head, and it's not just one or two. The obsessive gleam in her eyes when she said that was quite terrifying, honestly.
She's declaring she'll turn me into her personal possession?
But well, it's not like I can completely blame her for developing that type of personality. She's been locked in that cell since she was a child, being treated like a valuable object instead of a person. It's natural she'd develop a twisted and obsessive personality when the only "affection" she receives is from a flosting eye.
Still, for now it seems she's better than her version in the original manga where she was a complete psychopath.
My original intention in having my All-Seeing Eye accompany Rize was because I wanted to spy on her to better understand the Washuu clan and their operations, since eventually I'll have to deal with them if I want to survive in peace with my loved ones in this world.
But now that I've been observing her for an entire week, I realize I also feel something like pity for her.
A girl locked up, starved, brutally beaten and trained as a living weapon. It's fucking sad when I think of it that way.
That's why I decided to use my mental manipulation ability through the eye to help her a bit. By manipulating the trainers' minds with simple commands, I made the intensity of her training drop from hell mode to normal mode.
Speaking of which, I'd finally found the method to make an ability work through the All-Seeing Eyes after much experimentation. Mental manipulation being the most accessible, but still only managing it after several days of practice.
Basically I need to concentrate the mental frequencies I emit from my brain and channel them through the eye, projecting them directly toward the target.
However, there are important limitations, of course.
First, the mental manipulation effect is significantly weaker when I use it through the eye instead of doing it directly with my physical presence. To give an example, it would be like the difference between shouting in person versus shouting through a phone with poor signal.
Second, and more important, mental manipulation simply doesn't work on beings with strong wills or high mental resistance. If I tried using this against someone like Mrs. Kiriko or against a powerful S-class ghoul, it would probably fail.
Third, I need the target to look directly at the eye for it to work properly. If there's no eye contact, the frequencies can't penetrate their mind.
And fourth, I can only give simple and direct orders.
Still, it's quite useful for situations like Rize's.
Of course, all this is only possible thanks to having evolved into a vampire and now my mind is much more powerful than before. If I were my previous self with a half-rotten brain, I could never achieve it. Because mental manipulation through the All-Seeing Eye now is stronger than the mental manipulation I could achieve in the past when I saved Rei from that ghoul.
"I suppose I'll keep helping Rize a bit more..."
I say that out loud while maintaining a part of my consciousness to observe through that eye this possessive crazy girl called Yuki-chan. The moment I completely cut the connection, her Yuki-chan would disappear.
I have fifteen other eyes floating all over the city anyway, so it's not like I'm losing surveillance capacity.
By the way, it's now a week after revealing I'm a monster to Saya.
Since a week has passed, now it's my first official day of school.
Mrs. Yuriko brought Saya and me to school in her car this morning early.
Honestly I thought I'd be nervous or something, considering how I was in my school in my past life. A relatively normal kid who tried to fit in without drawing much attention.
However, is it because they're all small children now? I don't care about them at all.
In fact, I find them quite annoying with their shrill screams and noisy games.
So I simply hang out with Saya and Rei at school, completely ignoring the other children who look at me with curiosity for being the "new kid."
Fortunately now my appearance looks like a normal human's and not like a gray-skinned monster's. Who knows what would have happened then.
It's a quiet and normal life.
It's a life I thought I wouldn't manage to experience being a zombie that evolves into a hybrid monster.
However...
Why am I not happy with this?
Ah...
It's because I've fundamentally changed.
Somewhere in my consciousness, I'm already accustomed to danger and adrenaline.
Moreover, I know this world will at some point be destroyed by those vampires and their zombie ghouls in the apocalypse.
Apparently I'm in a peaceful zone now, but it's only the superficial appearance.
Somewhere, there are dark machinations to bring this world to chaos.
Knowing that, even living as the past Arata desired, the current Arata isn't at peace.

The Sunday of the next week I leave the Takagi mansion with the intention of visiting Touka, since I haven't visited her in the last few weeks due to being busy adapting to school and training my new vampire powers in secret.
I feel a bit bad for having ignored her so long.
I walk through the quiet streets on Sunday morning. It might sound contradictory coming from a vampire, but I really enjoy the warm sun on my skin.
Being a vampire who can walk under the sun without turning into sparkling dust is great, I'm not going to lie.
I'm hlfway to Touka's house when I see a familiar figure walking in the opposite direction.
A young woman with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a white blouse that shows her generous curves in the part of her enormous breasts, and jeans that show the shape of her huge and well-formed butt.
"Oh..."
My eyes open slightly with surprise.
It's Miss Marikawa.
From time to time I used to stop by her house to receive some clothes when I was a zombie child living alone. Of course, I no longer need it since I now live with Saya and Yuriko, a family that could be considered tremendously wealthy.
Still, remembering that I was the only child who regularly visited Miss Marikawa, which somehow she thought was atoning for her mother's sins, I visit her from time to time.
But I haven't seen her since the middle of my incursions into the 24th Ward.
She walks distractedly while looking at her phone without paying attention to her surroundings.
When we're about to pass each other, she looks up and sees me, however she passes by as if I were a stranger.
