Dex Fruit Store Branch 2.
Svetlana had already rejected her friend's invitation, settling down to work here... Although, if one were to really dig deep, she still harbored some hope of marrying a rich man and rising to the top in one step. But overall, she was much calmer and had basically accepted reality.
Seeing Dexter walk over, Svetlana smiled and greeted him. "Boss."
Dexter nodded gently, then took out his cigarettes, handed one to Svetlana, lit one for himself, and smiled. "Made up your mind?"
Svetlana also lit her cigarette, took a drag, and nodded. "Yeah, I'd better stay here and work honestly."
Dexter smiled faintly. "A bit surprising. I thought you would choose the shortcut."
Svetlana smiled back. "Shortcuts aren't necessarily easy to walk. If I left, maybe I'd end up with nothing. Not worth it."
That was honest.
"I hope you remember this principle forever," Dexter expressed his approval, saying casually before asking, "How's the marriage thing going?"
"Found a decent man. Working on it," Svetlana replied with the cigarette dangling from her lips.
Svetlana looked quite distinctive like this.
"Try to get it done as soon as possible," Dexter reminded her. "I'm arranging to buy a street recently. It should be done in about six months. If you have legal status by then, you can officially own your business."
Hearing these words.
Svetlana instantly perked up, her eyes widening a bit. Then, excitement set in, and she nodded decisively. "Okay, I promise to get it done within six months!"
Dexter smiled and exhaled a puff of smoke. "Thought about what business to do?"
Since leaving Moscow and coming to America, during her time as a sex worker, Svetlana had always been looking forward to her future life. Naturally, she had thought about what business to do. "Maybe open a sandwich shop."
"How about opening a bar?" Dexter proposed. "I can give you a few more storefronts."
"!!!!" Svetlana was very familiar with bars. The reason she didn't say she wanted to open a bar was purely because opening a bar required too much capital. "I don't have that much money..."
Dexter shook his head. "Money isn't the problem. I remember saying I can sponsor you."
Svetlana was genuinely happy. "Alright then! Open a bar!"
"I'm just suggesting. You decide specifically what to do," Dexter said with a smile. "Alright, that's it then. I'm leaving."
"Bye," Svetlana smiled brilliantly as she said goodbye.
Dexter got in his car and left, returning to the restaurant.
Inside the fruit store.
Svetlana tilted her head slightly, looking at the azure sky outside the store. She smiled and exhaled a long puff of smoke. Immediately, she couldn't stop recalling the scene of her last meeting with Dexter, and couldn't help but feel a wave of lingering fear...
If she had chosen to go to New York with her friend...
What would it be like now?
The good fortune of owning her own bar in about six months would have completely vanished into thin air, right...
One choice, a world of difference...
In this moment, Svetlana suddenly had a very profound understanding of how important life choices are.

The Gallagher House.
Frank and Monica had been back for quite a while.
Quitting drinking was no joke, especially for an alcoholic like Frank who loved booze like his life depended on it... Therefore, although only an hour or so had passed, Frank still felt uncomfortable all over and incredibly restless.
Monica also really wanted Frank to successfully get that five thousand dollars. Seeing Frank restless like this, she was very anxious, constantly looking for ways to try and soothe Frank, helping him divert his attention.
As such, the two were naturally making a huge racket in the house!
Fiona watched, her brows furrowed into a knot, a very clear look of disgust on her face... But in her heart, she couldn't help but feel a sliver of warmth.
Because, no matter what, Frank and Monica, her parents, were back, both in this house.
Fiona, in this state, could probably only be described as pathetic.
Jimmy watched Fiona silently, feeling that with the return of these two nutjobs, Frank and Monica, Fiona would likely become even more disappointing and change her mind even faster.
Sigh~ Thinking this, Jimmy sighed silently. One by one. First, deal with that idiot Lip.
Thinking with a headache, Jimmy spoke up, found an excuse, said goodbye to Fiona, and then quickly left the Gallagher house.
Diagonally across from the Gallagher house, Tony sat in his police car. Spotting Jimmy, his brows twitched, and then his gaze landed on Jimmy's luxury car.
Tony had felt something was off about Jimmy for a while... He clearly didn't look like he had any formal job, yet he showed up driving different luxury cars almost every day...
Yesterday.
Tony personally, along with asking a friend for help, did a background check on Jimmy.
That background check basically confirmed Tony's suspicions.
Jimmy indeed didn't have any formal job, and had never held a formal job...
So, where did all those luxury cars come from?
In the police car, Tony, who had noted down the license plate of that luxury car not far away a short while ago, sneered coldly. His gaze shifted, landing on the Gallagher house again.
Watching with a cold sneer for a short while, Tony drove away, planning to go find Lip and give him some trouble.
Tony knew that in the summer, Lip would sell weed in the park.
So, trouble was easy to find.
---
Lip didn't do business today. He had just driven to the front of Sheila's house.
Of course, Mandy had been chased away a short while ago.
Stopping the dilapidated van, Lip turned his head to look around. Not seeing Karen's BMW, he didn't rush to get out, calling Karen instead.
Karen was on her way home. Seeing Lip's call, she skillfully tapped reject.
Answer my ass!
Karen was in a good mood and didn't want to be annoyed by that idiot Lip.
Lip called again, calling non-stop!
Just like that, time flew by.
Suddenly, Lip saw Karen's BMW returning. He instantly perked up, immediately stuffed his phone into his pocket, grabbed his crutches, and got out to wait for Karen.
Seeing Lip, Karen's good mood was ruined after all. She frowned almost instinctively. Then, thinking for a moment, she didn't drive around Lip but drove straight past him, deciding to provoke Lip and have some fun.
Shortly after, stopping the car by the roadside in front of Lip, Karen kept a straight face, got out, looked at Lip, and asked in a cold tone, "What do you want?"
Lip didn't like this tone. He frowned immediately. "Karen, let's talk."
Karen sneered. "Heh, who are you? What do I have to talk about with you?"
Lip was even more unhappy, but had to try hard to endure it. "Last night was just an accident. I love you..."
Karen almost laughed hearing this. "Accident? So, your dxxk accidentally slipped into Mandy's pxxxy?"
