Evening.
Lip had spent the better part of the day hustling and scamming, managing to scrape together a little over seventy dollars. Feeling a sense of accomplishment, he found Karen.
The two of them went to a secluded spot under the L train tracks, shaded by lush green trees on both sides.
After a brief chat.
Lip, with his sex addiction, didn't waste words. He started getting handsy, trying to take off Karen's clothes.
Normally, Karen would have enthusiastically cooperated, but this time, she refused. "Wait a minute. Let's talk first."
Lip was already impatient and wasn't about to stop. While continuing his advances, he said, "We can talk while we fxxk."
Karen gave a slight smile. "I'm serious. Let's talk first."
Lip was frustrated, but he had no choice. He temporarily stopped what he was doing and asked, "What do you want to talk about?"
"About the future. What are we going to do later?" Karen asked, feigning melancholy.
Lip didn't like this topic. He pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a deep drag. "What do you mean, what are we going to do?"
"I'm definitely not going to college. What about you?" Karen asked.
Lip answered without hesitation. "I'm not going either. It's pointless. I can find everything they teach in college on the internet."
Karen smiled internally, but her face remained wistful. "So after you graduate next year, you'll just start working? If we both work, how much can we make a month?"
"We still have to buy a house. That costs a lot of money."
Lip exhaled a puff of smoke, oozing confidence. "Don't worry, I can earn it. I promise we'll have our own house as soon as possible."
Karen smiled. "Everything costs money these days. I want to live a good life, you know?"
"I'll give you a good life," Lip said confidently.
Karen's smile brightened. "You're so good."
After praising Lip, Karen reached out with her fair hand, undid Lip's pants, leaned in, and got to work. "I believe you. I'm going to work hard too... I plan to find a job in a few days to save money for our future."
Lip was enjoying himself. Hearing this, he was slightly surprised. "You're not going to school?"
Karen shook her head gently. "That shitty school is useless. Since I'm not going to college anyway, I might as well start earning money early."
"The sooner we start earning, the sooner we can buy a house."
Due to his arrogance, Lip had always looked down on that high school and everyone in it. He completely agreed with Karen. "True."
After responding, Lip had an idea. "How about you don't look for a job? Let's make money together."
"Last summer, I ran an ice cream truck business with Kevin. We made a lot every day."
"Since I'm done with that idiot Kevin this year, why don't we do it together?"
Last summer, Karen wasn't close to Lip, so she didn't know about the ice cream truck business. She asked puzzledly, "Selling ice cream?"
"No," Lip smiled smugly, then explained the scheme.
Karen understood. After thinking for a moment, she didn't agree or disagree but asked, "With this business, the money you make still has to subsidize your family, right?"
Lip's brow twitched. "I'm still living there, so I have to contribute a bit. But I'll keep most of it to buy our house."
"Your family has a lot of unexpected situations," Karen stopped what she was doing, acting worried. "I'm afraid you won't be able to save much. I feel like it's better if I find a job myself."
"Trust me, I won't! I promise!" Lip was feeling good, so when Karen stopped, he got anxious. "How about this? I'll let you manage the money I earn."
Ding-dong.
That was exactly what Karen was waiting for. Hearing this, she was overjoyed inside, but showed nothing on her face. "That's not good. It's your money... Your promise is enough."
"Okay, let's do the ice cream truck business together."
"If we make enough, we can rent a cheaper place and live together first, okay?"
Hearing these words.
Lip's first thought was that he could fxxk non-stop in the future. He agreed decisively. "Okay."
"Mmh-hmm," Karen responded, nodding her head as she got back to work.
Not long after.
The car began to rock.
Idiot Lip hadn't learned his lesson at all and still firmly refused to use protection.
Karen was very satisfied with this.

End of the workday.
The Gallagher House.
The beat-up car stopped. Mickey pulled money from his pocket, counted out eighty dollars, and handed it to Carl. "Don't come banging on my door tomorrow, hear me?"
Carl took the money and grinned. "Got it. I'll wait for you at home."
"Yeah, get lost," Mickey said fiercely.
Carl hopped out of the car and walked home.
There was no one else in the Gallagher house, only Peggy sitting alone on the sofa watching TV.
Carl glanced around, walking toward Peggy while asking, "Grandma, where are the others?"
"Who knows," Peggy replied indifferently, then smiled at Carl. "Off work?"
"Yeah," Carl nodded with a bright smile, plonking down on the sofa.
"What did you do today?" Peggy asked, having nothing else to do.
It was his first day of real work, so Carl was in a good mood. He recounted the day to Peggy, finishing with great anticipation, "Once that shooting range is done, I can go there and play with guns!"
Peggy reached out and ruffled Carl's hair. "Good. A real man should know how to use a gun."
Hearing this, Carl liked this grandmother more and more. He said excitedly, "Right! That's exactly what I think! Fiona and the others don't understand at all."
"Because they're all pussies. Ignore them. Do whatever you want!" Peggy said with a chuckle.
At this moment, Fiona had just walked to the door and heard this sentence. Anxious, she hurriedly pushed the door open, rushed into the living room, and shouted unhappily at Peggy, "Peggy, what nonsense are you telling Carl?"
Peggy really looked down on Fiona, the town bicycle. "I'm teaching Carl the principles of becoming a real man. Things you can't teach."
Fiona immediately frowned deeply. "Carl's business is none of your business!! I don't want to hear that kind of talk in this house!"
Looking at Fiona like this, Peggy genuinely found it laughable. Too lazy to say more to Fiona, she turned to Carl and smiled. "Carl, push me to Dexter's restaurant. I'll treat you to dinner. After eating, we'll go buy clothes. How about it?"
Hearing this, whoosh, Carl stood up excitedly. "Okay! Thanks, Grandma."
Peggy chuckled, feeling that she had found what she wanted this time back—family affection. "You're welcome."
Saying this, Peggy slowly stood up.
Facing this scene, the anger in Fiona's chest churned uncontrollably.
Unfortunately, Peggy was a tough character, and Fiona didn't dare mess with her. She could only grit her teeth, glare fiercely at Peggy, and then say to Carl, "Carl, don't rush out yet. We need to talk."
"Talk about what?" Carl's intelligence was limited; he didn't react immediately and asked in confusion.
"Talk about your job!" Fiona frowned tightly. "I went to talk to Dexter this morning..."
Hearing this.
Carl's face instantly darkened. A clear fierceness appeared on his tender face as he roared, "What did you do??? What did you talk to Dexter about?"
"What the fxxk!!! Don't you dare try to control me!"
"..." Fiona really didn't expect Carl's reaction to be so intense. She was startled and froze.
Carl remained fierce. "I'll tell you one last time, my job is my job!! If you go to Dexter again and lose me my job!! You will be my biggest enemy!"
Fiona: "...Carl."
Carl had absolutely no interest in wasting words with Fiona. He took two quick steps and grabbed Peggy's arm. "Grandma, let's hurry to Dexter's place. I have to talk to him, or I won't have a job tomorrow."
Peggy smiled. "Okay."

Bianca got off work early today.
After leaving the marina, Dexter bought two bouquets of flowers, one large and one small, and went to the hospital.
Even though it was already past five o'clock.
Normally, Dex Restaurant should have been open.
But, not a big problem.
Dex Restaurant.
Veronica was very helpless. "Sorry, the boss went out on a date. He'll be back in a while. Please wait patiently."
