In front of the Inazuma Snack Shop
People who noticed the two adepti greeted them warmly. Seeing these adepti made them happy but not surprised.
By now, everyone in Liyue Harbor knew that encountering a Yaksha adeptus on the streets was a regular occurrence. News of the adepti wanting to experience mortal life had long since spread.
Despite some concerns, people welcomed the adepti into their midst. With adepti roaming the land, public safety would surely improve. No one would dare cause trouble under an adeptus's watchful eye—unless they'd lost their minds.
Bonanus smiled back at the enthusiastic crowd. Over the past few months, whenever she had free time, she'd come to Liyue Harbor's port or streets to shop.
Sometimes she came alone, sometimes with Xiao, sometimes with both Xiao and Bosacius. They'd go out together to taste food, listen to opera, buy pretty decorations, and so on.
Why wasn't Bosacius here now? He had business, obviously. What business? They weren't sure.
Their big brother hadn't told them. But Bonanus believed that with his strength, nothing major would go wrong. The guy was very powerful.
After exchanging greetings, the people fell silent and waited patiently in line. Quite surprising.
In the past, encountering such approachable adepti, they would have approached for conversation, hoping for some blessing.
But now, they didn't want to cause trouble for the adepti. The Yakshas already spent their time outside, fighting the dark forces ordinary people couldn't handle.
If even their rest time was disturbed, it would cause dissatisfaction—both among the people and the adepti. No one wanted to make trouble for themselves.
They only needed to know that several adepti were in Liyue Harbor and could be encountered occasionally. Nothing more. No disturbance.
"People are as warm as ever today," Bonanus murmured to herself.
Not that she minded. People greeted warmly but didn't crowd around, which made it easier for them to move about and experience mortal life.
Remembering the Lantern Rite months ago—when they couldn't even walk without being mobbed—she almost laughed.
That wasn't experiencing mortal life. That was living like a celebrity! Surrounded by crowds, with Millelith soldiers keeping people at bay.
If she didn't know she was an adeptus, she'd have thought she was some legendary superstar.
"Alatus, anything else you want to eat later?" Bonanus shook her head, pushing aside those thoughts, and asked Xiao.
"Or maybe something useful you want to buy?" She looked at him expectantly.
Seeing that hopeful expression, Xiao understood. Sister Bonanus wanted to shop for herself!
If she wanted to go, she should just admit it. He'd accompany her. No need for excuses.
But forgive him—he didn't feel like shopping or buying food today. Since she asked, he'd reluctantly refuse.
"Please allow me to decline, Sister Bonanus. I think you've bought quite enough already." Xiao rubbed his forehead helplessly.
Bonanus's purchases had piled into a mountain at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. That said everything about how much she'd bought.
He'd never realized his sister's shopping ability was so terrifying...
"You haven't even used the things you bought before. Don't think about buying more."
"Ah? Now that you mention it... but it's called being prepared! Look, buy more—what if you need it someday?" Bonanus said seriously.
"But you're right. I really have bought too much. Wangsheng can barely hold it all. We can't keep causing trouble for Director Hu."
Bonanus nodded firmly. Most of her purchases had been sent to Wangsheng, received by Bosacius. The sheer volume had caused problems.
Looks like next time, I'll have shipments sent to Yanfei's place instead.
"Glad you understand. Find some time to sort through your things. Can't leave them at Wangsheng forever for others to deal with." Xiao nodded approvingly.
Sister Bonanus was wonderful in every way except for her shopping obsession. She bought anything she saw, useful or not, stuffing everything into her pack.
In merchants' eyes, she was practically a legendary philanthropist.
"Hehe, got it. I'll handle it personally. Won't cause them any more trouble." Bonanus nodded seriously.
"Good. But I might have other business then. Probably won't make it."
"By that time, Bosacius should be back from his work. You can ask him to help."
Xiao said flatly. Truth be told, he had no interest in moving boxes—it would waste too much of his time. He had other important things to do.
Besides, leave that kind of work to Bosacius. The guy was built like a truck and had four arms. Definitely good at manual labor.
And Bosacius would be happy to help Bonanus anyway. In fact, he probably couldn't wait to clear out those piled-up goods.
"Don't worry, I can handle it myself. Don't underestimate your big sister." Bonanus said confidently. Just moving some boxes—how hard could it be?
"Heh. Hope so." Xiao chuckled. Don't take things too lightly.
A few minutes passed...
The Inazuma Snack Shop didn't keep them waiting long. Soon, it was Bonanus's turn.
The shop owner was very warm, chatting amiably with Bonanus. Bonanus liked her—mostly because her desserts were delicious.
She bought some Tricolor Dango and various Inazuman snacks. The owner seemed to know how to make everything. Very skilled.
"Alatus, let's go!" Bonanus hugged her bundle of treats contentedly, ready to leave.
"Alright." Xiao nodded.
This time, Bonanus didn't put the bill on Childe's tab. Such a small purchase didn't cost much. She couldn't always freeload off others.
More importantly, Bonanus had been going out frequently these past few days, clearing out monsters. Not only did this sharpen her combat skills, but it also earned her a decent amount of Mora.
Not much, but enough for this.
For huge expenses, she could still charge it to Childe. His logistics were well-funded. With a wealthy guarantor, he never worried about money.
Speaking of Childe, Bonanus suddenly remembered something. It's been so long, and I've barely met him! We don't really know each other.
I'll have to find him sometime. Could even mess with him a bit—that'd be fun.
Childe was usually with Zhongli. Wherever Zhongli was, Childe could likely be found.
Unless Childe was away on business or handling some important matter personally, he could usually be encountered in the wilderness, small villages, or old ruins.
Leaving the area with their dango, the two found a relatively quiet spot to taste the foreign delicacies.
"Mmm—very chewy! Great texture too. A novel flavor!" Bonanus chewed contentedly. Her puffed-out cheeks showed how much she enjoyed it.
Xiao sampled it quietly as well. The flavor was indeed good... but he didn't want to eat too much.
