Uncle Wu leaned against the corridor wall, quietly looking at the ceiling.
He was sorting out the information about Koyik that Dilinaer had just given him, and there was a hint of worry between his brows.
Dilinaer's last sentence made him a little uneasy.
"Remember, there, individual strength cannot decide everything."
Uncle Wu had thought about calling for backup, but combining it with the information, it didn't seem to be a matter of brute force.
This meant that some things might only be dependent on Jiang Junyi and Wan Qingyun themselves.
This made him, the most loyal butler, feel a bit distressed.
After carefully sorting out his thoughts for about thirty minutes, he heard the doorknob turn.
"Come in," Capricorn's neutral yet somewhat sexy voice rang out.
Uncle Wu pushed the door open and saw Capricorn walking towards the bed, wiping her neat short hair with a towel.
His gaze shifted downwards...
Uncle Wu instantly closed his eyes. What was that, so white and bright?
Capricorn saw no movement behind her and turned to look.
Seeing his reaction, she couldn't help but find it amusing: "At your age, you still get shy?"
"See no evil," Uncle Wu walked slowly, feeling his way along the wall.
Capricorn was wearing a rather loose nightgown at the moment, which completely covered her pajama bottoms, and coupled with her tall stature.
So the visual image Uncle Wu received was—from the hem down, it was all legs.
A style common among mature women.
Capricorn sat on the edge of the bed, crossing her legs: "Don't mind it, I might even be older than you."
Uncle Wu slightly opened his right eye and glanced at Capricorn.
He saw her calmly scrolling on her phone with an indifferent expression, and only then did he feel at ease to open both eyes.
Uncle Wu took off his coat, hung it on the clothes rack, then pulled the quilt over and lay down on the bed, his back to Capricorn.
What Aunt Zhao said earlier was true—he was an old-fashioned man!
"You look very young," Uncle Wu responded to Capricorn's earlier remark.
"Martial artists live long, and I'm a bit different; my adolescence is longer (referencing Saiyan lifespan)," Capricorn said indifferently.
Speaking of which, she looked up, feeling a bit like laughing again:
"Hey, you look like you're in your thirties or forties, haven't you experienced it?"
Uncle Wu remained silent, only shaking his head repeatedly.
"Alright then." Capricorn smiled, pulled the quilt over, "Turn off the light."
"Bang!"
"One more thing, I sleepwalk. Be careful tonight."
The next day, in Jiang Junyi's room.
Jiang Junyi paced around Uncle Wu, pinching his chin and scrutinizing him: "Hiss, Uncle Wu, what did you do last night? You seem a bit… haggard?"
"Nothing, Young Master, I just had a nightmare," Uncle Wu said calmly.
"Is that so?" Jiang Junyi looked at Uncle Wu suspiciously.
His intuition told him something was off.
But his rationality told him that Uncle Wu wasn't that kind of person.
After much thought, he gave up.
"Alright, do you two have anything to say?" Jiang Junyi returned behind Wan Qingyun and looked at the two of them.
Hearing this, Uncle Wu and Capricorn became serious:
"It's like this…"
Uncle Wu began to explain the general situation of Koyik, while Capricorn took out a blank piece of paper and drew something on it.
"Here, this will be where we enter; there will be rocks covered in holes."
On the white paper, two black lines represented the path.
The large circle enclosing a small circle next to it represented the rocks.
Jiang Junyi and Wan Qingyun nodded expressionlessly, not understanding, but at least they knew it was about rocks.
"And then…" Capricorn drew a large circle, and then drew a corner in the center.
She pointed with her pen: "You must say something when you see this thing. If you encounter danger, a sandstorm, or anything else, this might have a protective effect."
Jiang Junyi: (;one_one)
Wan Qingyun: (ー_ー゛)
Uncle Wu sighed slightly, and under Capricorn's puzzled gaze, he picked up the white paper.
Holding the pencil, he swung it around "swish, swish, swish."
His hand speed was so fast that afterimages appeared.
Soon, a clear and detailed sketch appeared before everyone.
Sandstorm, rocks, solid walls.
Capricorn was slightly silent: "That's what I mean."
"Understood," Jiang Junyi and Wan Qingyun replied.
"If a sandstorm comes, we must grab onto each other immediately; this is very important!" Capricorn said solemnly.
"Yes," Uncle Wu was uncharacteristically serious.
Jiang Junyi and Wan Qingyun frowned slightly: "Okay."
"In the worst-case scenario, if we get separated, we must have sufficient water and food!" Uncle Wu said in a deep voice.
"Okay!"
About an hour later, the four were ready to depart.
Jiang Junyi: "Ready to go."
With that, he picked up Wan Qingyun and walked towards the stairs, while Capricorn carried the wheelchair.
Uncle Wu looked at his empty hands in a daze, feeling a bit unaccustomed.
Although he was carrying a BTD heavy tactical pack on his back, it had an extra-large capacity.
Not only him, Jiang Junyi also carried the same backpack, and Wan Qingyun had a medium-sized backpack on her lap.
On the street, a large tractor was parked by the roadside.
The iron plate was large enough to accommodate four people.
Uncle Wu had a hard time finding this early in the morning; many locals shook their heads in fear of misfortune when they heard it was for Koyik.
It wasn't until he pulled out a thick wad of cash that this tractor brave man appeared.
"Chug chug chug chug…"
On the vast concrete road, the tractor emitted black smoke, moving rather slowly.
You know, at this speed, admiring the vast and boundless desert on both sides had a unique flavor.
Jiang Junyi watched Wan Qingyun curiously examine the tractor and couldn't help but smile: "Haven't seen one before?"
"No, I haven't," Wan Qingyun shook her head.
"In a very long time ago, this thing could be compared to a modern Mercedes."
"Really?"
"Really," Jiang Junyi gently stroked Wan Qingyun's messy hair, "And, if a family had one of these for a wedding back then, it was incredibly prestigious."
Wan Qingyun's small mouth slightly opened, and she nodded seriously.
Next, Jiang Junyi told Wan Qingyun many more things, and for a while, the atmosphere on the tractor seemed very warm and pleasant.
The black smoke that emerged seemed to have lost its choking quality, flowing gently.
Uncle Wu looked at his Young Master and Young Mistress, smiled, and averted his gaze.
As he turned his head, he saw Capricorn, with her legs crossed, looking at the distant desert.
The sunlight fell on her short, scattered hair, and the wind from the wilderness gently kissed her thin lips.
Uncle Wu, however, focused on her eyes, which were deep and tranquil, yet held a weariness that did not belong to her face.
As if sensing his gaze, Capricorn tilted her head slightly, saw Uncle Wu's calm expression, and cocked her head.
"What is it?"
"Nothing, just need to pay attention from now on."
"Mhm."
