Chapter 355 - Chapter 355: Yveltal: Not brother(s)—can’t play nice?

Eternal Flower Floette, how do I put it?

It's basically a "variant" of Floette.

As everyone knows, Floette's evolution is Florges.

Florges is a pretty solid Fairy-type Pokémon.

And Eternal Flower isn't an evolution—

yet its Base stats are still not weaker than Florges.

In the games, Florges's Base stats are 552.

While Eternal Flower Floette is 551.

It's worth noting that although there is data about Eternal Flower Floette in the game, there is currently no way to obtain Eternal Flower.

There's still no way to obtain Eternal Flower through any legitimate means.

Eternal Flower Floette was only obtainable via cheats beforehand.

Even event giveaways haven't happened.

And Eternal Flower Floette also has its own signature move:

Fairy type's Light of Ruin.

Light of Ruin's power is as high as 140.

And among normal Fairy-type Moves, it currently has the highest power.

Since Eternal Flower only exists in the plot…

its origin is also very clear.

It was the normal Floette Az had died in the war.

But after being hit by the light of the Ultimate weapon…

it revived and mutated into Eternal Flower.

Here's what the Pokédex says about Eternal Flower:

"That ominous flower holds terror's energy, yet it swings the flower so naively. (Eternal Flower)"

Without question, it's the Ultimate weapon that changed this Floette.

Because the Ultimate weapon's activation depends on huge amounts of life energy.

So back then, how many Pokémon did Az sacrifice to revive Eternal Flower Floette?

Only Az himself probably knows that.

Damian was actually still pretty interested in Eternal Flower.

But he wasn't so obsessed that he would split Az and Eternal Flower—

the friends who had been separated for three thousand years.

Damian also didn't consider himself a good person.

A lot of the time, to reach his goals, he could be ruthless.

But he truly had his own bottom line.

Otherwise, this world would've already been a complete mess.

Like how Damian was totally jealous of Hoopa.

Still, Damian understood clearly that Mischief Hoopa and the siblings Baraz weren't "family by blood,"

they were family-bonds in everything but name.

So Damian wouldn't force anything.

"Try it later."

Damian fell into thought.

He would eventually bathe in the Ultimate weapon's light too—

so he could get immortality.

Then he could bring a Floette to bathe in it together.

Maybe it would mutate too.

Either way, shining that light wouldn't do any harm to that Floette.

If it didn't work, there'd just be regret.

But if it did—

that would be a huge surprise.

After waiting a bit, Az and Eternal Flower finally snapped out of the excitement of reunited.

"Congratulations."

"Looks like my mouth actually has some kind of luck."

"Just now, when I said I believed you could reunite, you really did, huh?"

Damian smiled and spoke to Az.

"Thank you."

"Thank you so much, you truly—unfamiliar person."

Az's worn-out face showed a sincere, genuine smile as he thanked Damian.

Eternal Flower Floette sat on Az's shoulder, curious as it looked at Damian.

"My name is Damian."

"I'm Az."

Az felt that name sounded strangely familiar.

But he didn't overthink it and just extended a hand to Damian.

Damian and Az shook hands.

But compared to Az, Damian's hand was honestly a bit tiny.

Az's body was just abnormally tall.

"Damian."

"You're interested in the Ultimate weapon, right?"

Az glanced at the Ultimate weapon.

He could tell that Damian cared a lot about this machine.

"Yeah."

"To be honest, I want to get immortality together with my lover."

"And the Ultimate weapon can help me."

Damian didn't deny it.

There was no reason to deny anything.

"I see…"

Az went silent.

But now that the knot in his mind had been untied, he didn't try to stop anything.

Though he'd suffered because of immortality's "curse",

he couldn't deny that—

in this moment, after reuniting with Eternal Flower,

he also had to feel grateful to that "curse."

Otherwise, how could he have this kind of emotion and joy right now?

"But to trigger the Ultimate weapon…"

"you need a key."

"Originally, the key was with me."

"But someone already stole it earlier."

Az brought it up.

And the one who stole his key was Lysandre.

But Az didn't tell Damian this part—

strictly speaking, he actually voluntarily handed over that key.

Because Lysandre was the offspring of his little brother.

Yes.

Az was also, technically, Lysandre's ancestor.

Knowing that, Az voluntarily surrendered the Ultimate weapon's key.

Otherwise, Lysandre really wouldn't have been able to do anything to Az.

Even though Az had been a mess and drifted for three thousand years…

Az's Trainer strength was actually quite solid.

He was also a Champion-tier.

At least, he was far stronger than Lysandre.

"I know."

"I already got the key."

Damian obviously hadn't missed that.

Az nodded.

"Where are you planning to go next, Az?"

Damian asked Az.

"Not sure."

"But I've already decided."

"I'm going to cheer up and start living for real again."

Az smiled.

His mental state really had changed.

His dead, lifeless vibe was gone.

He was back to anticipating life—

and longing for the future.

Because with eternal life…

he would be walking toward the future together with Eternal Flower.

So of course, he needed to get his mood in order.

"In that case…"

"I have a suggestion."

"Do you want to consider it?"

Damian fell into thought.

"What kind of suggestion?"

Az couldn't help but sound curious.

"Actually, I'm the boss of Team Rocket."

"Under my name, I have a lot of enterprises."

Damian gave a simple introduction of himself.

"Team Rocket…"

"No wonder…"

"Back when I was wandering, I also heard people talk about your name."

Az suddenly understood.

"Just a little known, that's all."

Damian said modestly.

"I'm setting up a few shops in Lumiose City."

"Including places like an inn, a restaurant, a jewelry shop, that sort of thing."

"If you want, I can hand one of my enterprises to you to run."

"After all, you've reunited with Floette now."

"So you'll definitely need a job too, right?"

"You can't possibly let that adorable Floette not even afford Pokéblocks, can you?"

"This…"

Az hesitated.

He looked at Eternal Flower Floette.

Eternal Flower blinked at him.

"But, Damian…"

"I don't have managed experience."

"And I've never run any business before…"

Az helplessly said that.

To be honest, he was tempted.

And he also understood that Damian was helping him indirectly.

But the problem was—

he just couldn't.

Three thousand years ago, he had been a king.

But that was three thousand years ago.

And after wandering for three thousand years…

he really didn't understand any of this anymore.

"It's fine."

"Even if you don't know, you can learn slowly."

"I'll arrange professionals to assist you as your co-worker."

"I trust your abilities."

"The person who can manufacture the Ultimate weapon…"

"has undeniable talent."

Damian teased.

"…"

"Thank you, Damian."

Az tightened his lips.

His gratitude toward Damian was beyond words right now.

He didn't reject it.

Damian was right.

Even just to let Floette live a good life,

he needed a job.

Still, in Az's mind, he had already decided—

he would definitely repay Damian for this kindness.

"No need to be polite."

"Then welcome to Team Rocket."

"Thank you."

"I told you not to thank me."

"And then…"

Damian slowly curled the corners of his mouth.

He looked at Az with a deep, meaningful expression.

"Our time will be long, won't it?"

Hearing that, Az froze for a second.

Then he laughed softly too.

Right—

Damian had already said it.

And he also wanted immortality.

Their world… really was long.

Really, really long.

But how should he put it?

At this moment, Az didn't hate it.

He even felt a little anticipation.

Because in that case—

Damian would truly be his "teammate."

They chatted a bit more.

Then Damian looked back at the Ultimate weapon again.

"Do you want to activate it now?"

"But its operation requires a lot of energy."

Az, as the one who manufactured the Ultimate weapon—

naturally, no one understood the Ultimate weapon better than he did.

"No."

"I think my body can still grow for another year."

"Otherwise, being frozen in this stage isn't perfect."

Damian shook his head.

Hearing Damian's reason made Az a little surprised.

But if he thought about it carefully…

it was also within reason.

Caitlin also fell into thought.

She looked down at her chest, then wondered.

Hmm… is she still able to grow?

"I already talked to Xerneas."

"Later, it will use its energy to trigger the Ultimate weapon."

"So the energy part isn't something we need to worry about."

Damian glanced around.

This huge Ultimate weapon—

if you tried to hide it, it actually wasn't very convenient.

Since that was the case, it should just be put back down again.

"Mewtwo."

Damian released Shadow Mewtwo again.

"Bury it back underground."

Shadow Mewtwo's body slowly floated up.

Its eyes filled with psychic.

It raised its hand—

blue psychic controlled the entire Ultimate weapon.

As Shadow Mewtwo's palm gradually pressed down—

along with loud, booming noises—

the massive Ultimate weapon slowly sank.

Finally, the entire Ultimate weapon went completely underground.

"Flatten the ground."

Shadow Mewtwo stayed silent.

It controlled its psychic again to stir up a wave of earth.

In the blink of an eye, it buried the Ultimate weapon fully.

The ground was also extremely neat and natural-looking.

"Damn…"

Az couldn't help but be genuinely impressed.

It was the first time he'd seen a Pokémon like Shadow Mewtwo—

using psychic so naturally and smoothly.

That was insanely cool.

"With this, we don't have to worry about the Ultimate weapon being exposed."

"Next time we need to use it, we just pull it back out."

Damian nodded in satisfaction.

Next, he would send a whole Team Rocket squad to stay in Geosenge Town to guard it for him.

That way, it would be completely safe.

"Next…"

"once we finish the last thing, Az, come back with me to Lumiose City."

"Sure."

Az nodded.

"If you need anything, just say it."

"It's fine."

"It's just that the Pokémon I caught earlier might not be very obedient."

"So it needs some training."

Damian took out Yveltal's Ultra Ball.

The corners of his mouth lifted with a playful, faintly sinister smile.

Training a Pokémon I just caught?

How do you train it?

Az looked at Damian, puzzled.

But soon enough, he understood.

In the wild—

in a wide open area—

Damian opened Yveltal's Ultra Ball.

"Come out."

"Kreee~!"

White light shimmered.

Yveltal, still seriously injured, let out an angry shrill cry.

Its wings spread—

like the claws of a demon.

Yveltal's fire was huge!!!

Extremely huge!!!

That damned Xerneas!

How the hell was it kicking it with its hooves over and over again?!

Every time it just woke up—

it would still be dazed—

and then it got kicked unconscious again!

Damn it—

if it hadn't been already heavily injured back then,

how could that dead serious Xerneas humiliate it like this?!

It was so pissed.

It was beyond "can't tolerate this anymore."

Yveltal let out another violent shrill cry.

Dangerous, ominous red beams shimmered all over its body.

It was going to kill that Xerneas!

But…

"First, calm down and cool your head."

"I know you're furious right now."

"And I know you're desperate."

"But don't rush."

Damian found it a bit funny.

He told Yveltal that.

Yveltal bowed its head on the spot.

Its icy, blunt gaze locked onto Damian.

"You should know already."

"You've already been caught by me."

"So I'll ask you."

"Do you want to be my partner?"

"Partners you can rely on each other."

"And trust each other."

Damian spoke very gently.

"Kreee!!!"

But what responded to Damian—

was only a cold, proud screech.

It was ridiculous—partners?

Yveltal had never even thought it would ever have partners.

It didn't need partners.

It was Yveltal!

"No?"

"Then how about you look around and answer me?"

Damian raised a brow.

"Kreee!!!"

But Yveltal totally ignored Damian.

Look around and answer?

Yveltal didn't take it seriously.

What could be out there that—

Yveltal glanced around.

Its eyes narrowed.

On the left, blue and golden light shone.

In myths and legends, Primal Kyogre was calmly watching it.

On the right, holy and gorgeous Reshiram stood there arrogantly.

Noble, pure blue dragon eyes—cold and beautiful.

In front of it, Mega Shadow mewtwo y slowly floated up from behind Damian.

Its deep purple light eyes held an intense amount of pressure.

Behind it, Shadow Lugia—

its blood-red eyes were terrifying and horrifying.

In an instant, Yveltal felt a thick terror pressure.

But it wasn't done.

It also sensed a crushing oppressive aura—

from above.

Yveltal lifted its head.

What it saw was a huge, endlessly rotating black time-space vortex.

The owner of a broken world.

A Creator berserk avatar.

Origin Forme Giratina—

had its head peeking out from the Reverse World halfway.

Cold brutality.

Yveltal, already injured…

instantly got stiff all over.

Trapped on all sides.

Trapped on all sides!!!

Not brother(s)?
