Chapter 291 - Chapter 291: You’re Not Asking Me to Help You Take Down Arceus, Are You?

Origin Forme Giratina hangs in the sky.

Its overwhelming divine pressure floods heaven and earth; the dark sky is pouring with rain, adding even more oppression to Giratina's presence.

"This pressure… is awesome."

Damian's lips curl as he flashes white teeth.

Facing the strongest of Sinnoh's founding Six Spirits—Giratina—head‑on like this…

Feels incredible.

(I really am high as hell right now.jpg)

A deep, raspy draconic bellow tears through the sky.

Origin Forme Giratina lifts its fierce dragon head high; a perfectly condensed sphere of energy forms at its mouth.

Dragon‑type Draco Meteor.

The Draco Meteor, seemingly holding the stars and heavens inside it, soars upward and explodes at its peak.

One by one, blazing meteors with glowing tails rain down like a gorgeous, brilliant meteor shower.

Except this meteor shower is lethal.

"Protect!"

Damian gives the order at once.

Trying to tank Draco Meteor head‑on would be pure stupidity.

Primal Kyogre instantly throws up a green Protect barrier.

At the same time, Origin Forme Giratina dives down, right behind the Draco Meteor barrage.

"Psychic!"

Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y's eyes blaze with a deep blue glow.

Binding Psychic locks onto Giratina.

But Giratina's form turns ghostly again.

Binding Psychic can't grab its silhouette at all.

If Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y had eyebrows, they'd definitely be knotted tight right now.

How is this possible?

You can clearly see Giratina's body with your eyes, but neither attacks nor Moves can touch it, like it's not in this space at all.

"Shadow Force. So that's how it works in this world."

Damian narrows his eyes, staring hard at the phantom dragon shadow.

This is Giratina's signature move, Shadow Force.

No doubt about it.

In the games, Shadow Force is basically just the upgraded version of Phantom Force; both are physical Ghost‑type Moves.

Shadow Force just has higher base power.

In reality, Phantom Force is a Move where a Pokémon slips into a dark spatial crack, then reappears beside the opponent to strike.

But the way Shadow Force shows up here is completely different.

When Giratina's form turns phantom, your eyes can still track its shadow—but its real body is already in another dimension.

So any attack just passes through its ghostly shell.

Which makes this Move insanely busted.

As long as Giratina wants to, its true body can phase into that other dimension whenever it likes, switching between solid and phantom at will.

It can casually dodge the opponent's attacks and close in to strike.

It's a totally scummy Move.

Boom! Rumble—!

Draco Meteors keep pounding down on Spear Pillar.

This temple was already reduced to ruins in the Hisui era by Dialga and Palkia's battle.

Now it's getting carpet‑bombed all over again.

Thunderous booms shake the air nonstop; raging shockwaves spill out in every direction.

The Lake Guardians use Psychic to carry Cynthia and Caitlin back, keeping them clear of the blasts.

Primal Kyogre hovers above, Protect barrier taking hit after hit from Draco Meteor.

Once the barrage finally ends, Protect shatters.

Primal Kyogre looks up.

Giratina is already right in its face.

A ghostly light glows all over Giratina's body.

Shadow Force.

"Ice Beam!"

Primal Kyogre pulls back in a rush, icy light charging in its maw.

Even in the Primordial Sea's pelting rain, Dragon‑type Giratina resists Water.

So Primal Kyogre can only attack with Ice‑type moves.

Ice Beam lashes toward Giratina in a twisting beam.

But Giratina lowers its head and slams into it.

Boom!

Giratina smashes into the ice light head‑on; Shadow Force just bulldozes Ice Beam forward.

In the end, it slams brutally into Primal Kyogre.

Primal Kyogre lets out a pained cry as its massive body is battered away by Giratina.

Giratina's dragon eyes stay frigid and merciless.

Lightning crackles over its body.

Electric‑type Thunder.

"Dark Pulse!"

Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y fires a black wave of energy in a snap.

Giratina's form goes ghostly again.

Dark Pulse passes right through.

You can clearly see phantom Giratina turn its head and start rushing straight at Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y.

Seeing that, Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y immediately pulls back.

"This Move is way too strong."

Watching from afar, Caitlin's refined brows draw tight.

The ability to turn phantom whenever it wants is just too broken.

As long as it picks the timing right, isn't it basically immune to everything?

"Mm. It doesn't even need a full second to switch from solid to phantom, and there doesn't seem to be any real limit on how often it can do it."

Cynthia nods.

She's been watching closely; whether Giratina goes from solid to phantom or back, it's always like that.

"I really don't know how Damian plans to beat it."

Caitlin looks at Damian.

Even so, her faith in him doesn't waver.

She has to admit, this Giratina is on a completely different level than the Shiny Rayquaza and Black Kyurem they fought before.

Shiny Rayquaza and Black Kyurem were just insane stat monsters.

Origin Forme Giratina is not only monstrously strong by itself—it's also a pure "mechanics boss."

That makes it a nightmare to deal with.

"Mewtwo!"

The phantom Giratina keeps surging in, closing the distance.

But since Giratina's currently in ghost form, Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y can't even use Moves to hold it back.

Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y is forced to stop in place and throw up a purple‑black psychic wall.

The instant it sees that, Giratina flips solid again; the sharp spikes along its sides flare with ghostly light.

Ghost‑type Shadow Claw.

Giratina's massive body coils and then accelerates hard as it closes in on Shadow Mewtwo.

Skree, skree, skree—!

Its razor‑edged Shadow Claws rip and tear at Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y's psychic wall, filling the air with teeth‑gritting screeches.

But Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y's psychic wall is unbelievably sturdy.

Giratina blasts past it, then whips around behind Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y in an instant, ready to strike again.

Giratina can feel Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y's Psychic power is very strong.

But no matter how strong Psychic is, there will always be a point where it bottoms out—especially with a monster like Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y, pouring that much power into defense.

All Giratina needs to do is keep attacking, keep forcing Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y to spend Psychic.

"Psychic, grab it!"

The instant Giratina starts its turn, Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y fires off Psychic again, trying to catch hold of it.

But as if it had already predicted this, a dark rift in space opens in front of Giratina.

It dives through without hesitation.

Phantom Force.

"Experience is pretty damn rich."

Damian can't help lifting a brow.

Even with Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y's Psychic, actually locking Giratina down is impossible.

But he can still briefly snag Giratina's movements, slow them for a second—that alone is enough for Primal Kyogre to counterattack.

Except Giratina doesn't give them any chance.

It's way too good at using its own advantages.

You'd never guess this thing's been holed up in its own world all this time.

Then again, it makes sense.

Through the Reverse World, Giratina can look into the real world.

It's seen countless fights and soaked in endless battle "footage."

Honestly, if LaRousse City had been facing Giratina back then, Damian probably would've had to run for it.

Just throwing raw stats at something like this would not be enough.

"Stay sharp, Kyogre."

Damian's thoughts race, then he calls up to Primal Kyogre in warning.

Primal Kyogre narrows its eyes, watching its surroundings warily.

Soon enough, a dark crack in space opens behind it.

Giratina bursts out, lunging straight for Primal Kyogre.

"Behind you! Ice Beam!"

Primal Kyogre whips around and fires a sweeping beam of ice‑blue light behind it.

Giratina crashes into Primal Kyogre first; a muffled grunt rumbles out of the ancient whale.

But Ice Beam doesn't stop; it sweeps across Giratina's chest.

Ice‑type attacks hit Giratina hard.

Giratina turns phantom in an instant to avoid taking more damage, then uses its ghost phase to retreat and widen the distance between them again.

Damian, who was just about to have Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y counterattack, stops giving orders when he sees that.

Origin Forme Giratina sweeps its cold eyes over Primal Kyogre and Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y.

Then its gaze drops down to Damian on the ground.

Its dragon eyes flicker faintly.

Who knows what it's thinking.

"Giratina, I've got no desire to fight you. As long as you let Dialga and Palkia return to normal, I'll leave this place right away."

Seeing that Giratina hasn't continued attacking, Damian thinks it over and speaks up.

To be blunt, fighting Giratina is harder than fighting Black Kyurem.

This thing's Shadow Force is just too busted.

Giratina stares down at Damian, eyes still icy.

It doesn't answer.

But it doesn't reject him either.

"You're good."

"…?"

Damian's brows lift.

That deep, raspy Telepathy in his ear just now—that was Giratina.

It's… complimenting him?

"A fine human. Your strength."

Giratina repeats itself, reaffirming Damian's power.

Of course it's good.

Even though their direct clash hasn't been that long, Giratina can already tell.

Primal Kyogre and Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y are both incredibly strong Pokémon.

"Thanks for the praise."

Damian answers politely.

"I can let them go. But…"

Giratina's Telepathy is flat and cold as ever.

It glances sideways at the two "brothers" currently ramming each other like bumper cars in the sky.

"You're going to help me with something."

Giratina finishes.

Damian's mouth twitches.

As the master of the Reverse World, one of the Pokémon of Myth—what could it possibly need his help with?

What else would it be?

"Let me ask something rude."

Damian thinks for a moment and decides to just say it.

"When you say 'help'… you're not asking me to help you beat up Arceus, are you?"

That's literally the only thing he can think of.

What else could Giratina possibly need a human for?

And trying to take on Arceus?
