Chapter 288 - Chapter 288: I’ve Got Dialga and Palkia! I’m the King Now!

Charon is practically shaking with excitement.

Opportunities really do come out of nowhere.

His original goal was just Heatran.

But in a single twist of fate, he can now get Dialga and Palkia instead.

This is what you call a chance.

He, Charon, is the real chosen one.

He can barely contain himself.

He's about to become god.

"L‑Lord Charon?"

The Team Galactic members look at Charon, who's laughing like a lunatic, and can't help feeling a chill.

Is this guy having an episode?

"You lot stay here and witness the birth of a new era."

Charon finally snaps back to himself.

He grins wide.

He pulls two Orbs from his pocket: the Adamant Orb and the Lustrous Orb.

These are divine Items that can be used to summon Dialga and Palkia.

Charon slowly walks to the center of Spear Pillar.

He lifts both Orbs high.

"Come on. Come on!!!"

As the Adamant Orb and Lustrous Orb begin to shine brighter and brighter, the clouds above the entire Mount Coronet region start to churn violently.

The sky itself changes color.

Diamond‑like and pearl‑like radiance gleams on the two Orbs, growing more dazzling by the second.

In the sky before Spear Pillar, to the left and right, time and space both begin to distort.

Pearlescent pink and diamond‑blue divine light pours constantly from the warped space.

Along with two deep draconic bellows—

From the temporal vortex on the left, Dialga slowly flies out, its whole body shimmering with a faint blue glow.

From the spatial vortex on the right, Palkia appears as well.

An overwhelming, god‑like majesty floods heaven and earth.

One blue, one pink pillar of light tears across the sky.

The dragons of myth that respectively represent time and space descend.

The Team Galactic members stare up at the two legendary gods, half‑狂热 and half‑terrified.

It really worked.

"Hahahaha~!"

Seeing Dialga and Palkia truly summoned, Charon breaks into manic laughter.

The joy is so intense his face warps outright.

They're here!

They're really here!

However, the summoned Dialga and Palkia are anything but pleased.

With a deep draconic bellow, Dialga fixes an unfriendly stare on Palkia.

At the same time, Palkia glares back in warning.

Time and space are two lines that can never intersect.

Dialga and Palkia almost never encounter each other.

And their sense of territory is terrifyingly strong.

If they meet in their own temporal and spatial realms, each will be absolutely convinced the other has invaded its territory, and a massive battle will inevitably break out.

Even if they meet in the real world, they won't be friendly.

Their relationship was bad to begin with.

Seeing Palkia actually dare to glare at it, Dialga instantly gets annoyed.

This Palkia really has zero self‑awareness.

Does it not remember its place?

Not greeting its big brother is one thing—glaring at it on top of that?

Clearly hasn't been disciplined enough.

Charon also notices the tension between the two dragons.

He doesn't care.

He quickly pulls out the Red Chain and hurls it toward Dialga and Palkia.

"Be good and obey my orders! Hahahaha~!"

Charon laughs wildly as the Red Chain flies out.

It catches the wind and lengthens, like a giant serpent streaking toward Dialga and Palkia.

Dialga and Palkia notice at once.

Both let out low roars of anger and pull back fast, trying to slip into their own temporal and spatial realms.

Too late.

The mythical Item coils around Dialga and Palkia at frightening speed.

The chain clings tight to both dragons' bodies, twisting and climbing, and in the blink of an eye, completely binds them.

Dialga and Palkia roar in fury.

Palkia rips at the Red Chain with both arms, but can't tear it apart.

Forged from the refined "soul" power of the Lake Guardians, the Red Chain is naturally the perfect counter to Dialga and Palkia.

An eerie red light surges along the Red Chain, eating into Dialga and Palkia's minds.

Soon, both Legendary Dragons' eyes start glowing red as well.

They gradually quiet down.

"Hahaha~ success! It really worked! I'm going to become this world's god!!"

Charon is ecstatic.

He can feel it.

He really has taken control of Dialga and Palkia.

Even if he ordered them to use time‑space power to destroy this world and create a new one, they could do it.

But obviously, Charon is not a lunatic like Cyrus.

If he destroys the current world, what's the point of having Dialga and Palkia?

If no one knows what he's done, what's the value?

Charon has always secretly looked down on Cyrus's "dream."

He thinks Cyrus's brain is fried.

With Dialga and Palkia's power, why not make yourself the "god" of this world?

Why bother creating a new world?

That's an idea only an idiot would have.

Charon is no idiot.

He's going to use Dialga and Palkia's power to ascend to godhood.

"What exactly do you think you're going to become?"

A young voice suddenly comes from behind.

"Who's there?!"

Charon whips around.

He sees one boy and two girls.

The young, handsome boy is holding a camera, half‑amused, half‑mocking smile on his lips as he films with clear interest.

Behind him stand two refined, slender girls.

And behind them, the Lake Guardians float in mid‑air, with the gorgeous, noble Zekrom beside them.

As for the Team Galactic grunts, they're all already kneeling on the ground, clearly taken down just now by these uninvited guests.

"Well, well. Look who it is. The famous Sinnoh Champion Cynthia."

Charon recognizes Cynthia at once.

He pushes his glasses up, his tone arrogant and mocking.

"Didn't expect you to track me all the way here."

He sneers.

"But you're still too late, hahaha. I've already got Dialga and Palkia. There's nothing you can do to stop me now."

If this were earlier, the instant he saw Cynthia, he'd have thought only of escape.

But that was then.

Now is now.

Cynthia's dark brows crease.

They really are late.

"Oh? So what exactly are you planning to do now?"

Damian asks politely.

"I! Will become this world's new king!"

Charon spreads both arms like he's embracing the sky.

His voice was fervent, almost reverent.

"The order of this world! The future of this world! Everything in this world belongs to me!"

He's already got Dialga and Palkia.

He's now the invincible being of this world.

He can stand above the Pokémon League.

He could create a new world too, sure.

But what's the point?

"That's impossible."

Hearing Charon's grand declaration, Cynthia stays calm and shakes her head.

"Oh? You're planning to resist me? You want to stand against Dialga and—"

Charon lets out a cold laugh.

"You think defiance means anything? You trash."

Damian can't listen anymore.

He lets out a sigh.

"What did you just say?"

"I said you're trash. Got a problem with that?"

Damian does him the courtesy of repeating it clearly.

"You bastard! How dare you humiliate me like that!"

Charon's face flushes scarlet; he glares daggers at Damian.

"Idiot. That's the size of your ego?"

Damian looks at Charon with contempt.

"What gave you the illusion that just getting Dialga and Palkia means you can rule this world?"

Dialga and Palkia are strong, sure.

But without their Origin Formes, they're a long way from invincible.

Not to mention, if a certain ice‑sculpture‑carving shut‑in hears that Charon has mastered Dialga, he'll absolutely come by to "have a chat."

And even aside from that, the Red Chain can't control Dialga and Palkia forever.

"Also, trash is still trash. Even if you're handed Dialga and Palkia, you're still just garbage. What could you possibly do?"

Damian doesn't bother softening the insult.

Charon's gone full red‑line now; his face is bright red.

Trash?

Trash?

He clearly already has Dialga and Palkia from myths and legends, and this guy still dares call him trash, garbage?

"Dialga! Take him down!"

Charon roars.

Bound by the Red Chain, Dialga lets out a deep draconic bellow.

A brilliant blue glow gathers in its mouth, time‑warping energy surging madly.

Roar of Time.

Dialga's signature move.

"Kyogre. Protect."

Damian casually flicks out a Cherish Ball and an Ultra Ball.

Kyogre and Shadow Mewtwo appear in front of him.

Kyogre's cry rings out; a golden light flashes over its body.

In an instant, it shifts into its primal form.

Golden beast‑eyes lock onto Dialga in the sky.

The fully charged Roar of Time blasts down.

Primal Kyogre throws up a Protect barrier.

Boom!

The time‑warping beam slams into Protect.

The terrifying energy overflows wildly.

Shocking wind and waves explode outward in all directions.

The light around Shadow Mewtwo flares as it Mega Evolves in a flash, shifting into Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y.

It raises one arm.

An invisible psychic wall unfolds, shielding Damian and the others.

So strong.

Watching the massive blue beam fill her vision, Cynthia can't help being shocked.

As expected of the Legendary Pokémon that commands time.

Soon, the Roar of Time's energy disperses.

Primal Kyogre's Protect shatters into motes of light.

"Hahahaha~! You see that? That's Dialga's power!"

Seeing that even Primal Kyogre can only defend with Protect, Charon breaks into arrogant laughter again.

Talk all you want; in the end, all you can do is turtle up and block.

"Damian, can you beat them?"

Cynthia is a bit worried.

If not, Charon's ambitions might truly throw this world into chaos.

"You're really underestimating me, Cynthia. We're only talking about a time‑space duo—Dialga and Palkia without their Origin Formes."

Damian sounds utterly relaxed.

He doesn't put Dialga or Palkia in his eyes at all.

And he has reason not to.

If Dialga and Palkia could go Origin, then he'd find them troublesome.

But both of these idiots long ago lost their Origin Orbs.

Palkia's Orb is literally in Damian's possession.

Hearing Damian's calm confidence, the last trace of unease in Cynthia's heart vanishes instantly.

A powerful sense of security spreads through her.

Right.

This is Damian we're talking about.

As an opponent, he's so overwhelming she doesn't even know where to start to beat him.

But as an ally, the feeling of safety he brings… is almost excessive.

As long as Damian's here, everything will be fine.

There's no logical reason.

You just feel that way.

"Dialga and Palkia aren't that hard to deal with. They're not actually our main problem either."

Damian narrows his eyes slightly.

He has never been worried about Dialga or Palkia.

With Primal Kyogre and Mega Shadow Mewtwo Y in front, plus his own brain, beating them isn't difficult.

"And this piece of trash is only using a divine Item to force control over them. Once we break the Red Chain's hold, Dialga and Palkia themselves will kill him."

Damian doesn't bother hiding his disdain for Charon.

Using an Item to control Legends is something he deeply looks down on.

It only proves one thing—that the person is weak.

"Damian, if you shatter the Red Chain on Dialga and Palkia, they'll return to normal."

Uxie's cool Telepathy echoes.

"The Red Chain is made from our 'soul' power. Its nature is different from Dialga and Palkia's own, but both ultimately come from Arceus. That's why it can affect them, and why they can't easily break free themselves."

Azelf explains.

"But Damian, your Pokémon can easily destroy the Red Chain and restore Dialga and Palkia's senses."

Mesprit adds.

"Got it."

Damian nods.

That makes things even simpler.

All he has to do is keep an eye out for Giratina.

No need to worry much, though.

If Giratina really does show up and turns out to be a pain to handle…

He'll just let little Rayquaza bust out its traditional party trick.
