But Shen Tang didn't.
She only looked at him coldly, the emotionlessness in her eyes bordering on cruelty.
That made the string in Liu Ye's heart pull even tighter.
"You're not afraid?" His fingers tightened slightly, his voice hoarse, carrying a barely audible tremor.
"I am." Shen Tang said, "But I know you won't press it."
Liu Ye's finger froze.
"You've already hesitated." Shen Tang's voice was very soft, as if stating a fact, "Liu Ye, you've had plenty of chances to kill me, but you never did. Why?"
Liu Ye's expression shifted over and over, finally settling into something almost feral, "Shut up—"
"You don't dare face the answer, so you can only run." Shen Tang cut him off, "Run to the deep sea, run behind the army, and now you want to run under the protection of the Divine Hall. You hate females, hate feelings, but more than anyone you're terrified of being abandoned—"
"I said shut up!"
Liu Ye roared, and his thumb slammed down on the activation button.
