He is tense when he gets out of the car and faces the huge manor, from outside, before a tall woman with long white hair, held in one braid and falling down her hips, comes outside with open arms.
"Finally, you are here," she says, smiling, and the wrinkles around her mouth deepen before she embraces Day in her bosom. "My stubborn grandson finally brought you home."
He is taken aback, but the chick lasts a second before he hugs her back, eyes closing because of how comforting and welcoming she seems, and she doesn't let go, not after a few heartbeats.
Even when she lets go of him, she still cradles his face.
"very beautiful. Very healthy and radiant. The gods have been hearing my prayers to keep you healthy, my dear."
"Thank you," he bows, and she laughs, deep and loud, so carefree, and Day immediately loves her.
