[Ghost Clan Golden-Rank Secret Realm]
[Lv85–Lv95 Land of Abandoned Ghosts]
Outside Ghost Domain City, in a dark and gloomy area...
Lin Mo was alone, with the assistance of Blackgold · Strong-Maned Pig and Divine Descent Seraph · Siya , going all out to hunt one Ghost Beast after another.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Under Divine Descent Seraph · Siya 's maximum buff support, following a burst of rapid basic attacks from Lin Mo, the Level 85 Bone-Eater Beast restrained by Blackgold · Strong-Maned Pig ahead was shot to death.
Lin Mo couldn't help lamenting, "What a pity. The Land of Abandoned Ghosts Secret Realm has restrictions that prevent trading with the outside world and transmitting items."
He had entered the secret realm so suddenly.
Not to mention magic scrolls, there weren't even many potions in Lin Mo's backpack.
Otherwise, he could have had Ning Xi send low-level magic scrolls to him from outside through the mail system.
Lin Mo could then use his SSS-rank talent Soul Flame to burn the low-level scrolls, obtain Scroll Evolution Points, and then evolve them into SSS-rank magic scrolls to quickly clear the monsters
If one scroll wasn't enough, he could use two.
If two weren't enough, he could use three.
But now, he had the power to evolve scrolls, yet he didn't have any magic scrolls in hand.
[T/N: When he has the scrolls, he can't use them, because blah blah blah blah. But, when he needs them, he doesn't have them. So convenient, right? For the Author, I mean.]
He couldn't use SSS-rank magic scrolls to quickly clear the map.
Lin Mo could only use pure manual mode.
Under this mode, Lin Mo's monster-killing efficiency was extremely slow.
He prioritized clearing the low-level Ghost Beasts outside Ghost Domain City.
After killing for an hour, Lin Mo checked the progress of the secret realm quest [Annihilation] and discovered that it had only just reached 5%.
"At this rate, even if I don't eat, drink, rest, or sleep, it'll still take twenty hours to complete the quest…"
And it wasn't even that simple.
After all, the 5% progress completed in one hour consisted entirely of the lowest-level Level 85 Ghost Beasts.
Once he went further in and started clearing Level 86, 87, and 88 Ghost Beasts, Lin Mo's progress would inevitably become slower and slower.
He might not even be able to kill those high-level Ghost Beasts.
Lin Mo had originally thought that this was already desperate enough.
But then something even more desperate happened.
Just as Lin Mo was calculating the progress, in front of him, the progress bar on the quest progress panel suddenly dropped by 2 percentage points from 5%, falling to 3%.
While Lin Mo was surprised.
He saw waves of black mist seeping up from underground in the distance ahead.
Immediately afterward, within the area covered by the black mist, the Bone-Eater Beasts that Lin Mo had killed one by one rose from the dead on the spot, revived with full health.
Only then did Lin Mo realize: the Ghost Beasts inside the Land of Abandoned Ghosts would refresh a batch every hour.
Lin Mo's heart immediately sank.
The battle was already quite difficult.
And now a batch of monsters could refresh every hour.
For Lin Mo, this was undoubtedly adding insult to injury.
Later on, when he faced those higher-level Ghost Beasts, he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to kill them as quickly as the system could refresh them.
"It's over…"
"This quest is impossible to complete…"
Lin Mo thought about giving up.
Yet he was unwilling to.
Losing just one secret realm reward was nothing.
Even if he couldn't continue participating in the God Creation assessment, so be it. There would still be opportunities in the future.
The most important thing was.
Lin Mo couldn't lose Divine Descent Seraph · Siya.
Group immunity from death!
Group resurrection!
Group immunity control!
After Oracle descended upon the world in the near future, in a world that could be called the apocalypse, the necessity of Divine Descent Seraph · Siya would be far too important.
"No!"
"No matter what, I absolutely cannot lose Divine Descent Seraph · Siya!"
Beside him, Divine Descent Seraph · Siya seemed to have also noticed that she was holding her master back.
She lowered her head, tears welling up in her beautiful golden eyes, and said sorrowfully, "I'm sorry, Brother Lin Mo. Siya can't share any of your burden at all, and instead can only become your burden…"
As she spoke, Lin Mo saw the prompt panel for Divine Descent Seraph · Siya 's corruption progress appear before him. The corruption progress rose from 53% to 54%.
55%!
56%!
In an instant, it rose by 3 percentage points.
Lin Mo was immediately terrified.
He hurriedly comforted her, "Don't say that."
"You've never been a burden."
"Just like Strong-Maned Pig, you're family that I can't do without in my heart."
The corruption progress before his eyes finally stopped rising.
Divine Descent Seraph · Siya raised her head and looked at Lin Mo, "Really?"
"Of course," Lin Mo said, "Don't worry, Siya. No matter when, I will never abandon you."
Divine Descent Seraph · Siya said gratefully, "Thank you, Brother Lin Mo!"
After calming Divine Descent Seraph · Siya.
What came next gave Lin Mo a headache, 'Siya's corruption progress is getting higher and higher. It's already reached 56%. At this rate, it won't take more than two or three days before she completely falls into corruption.'
And once Divine Descent Seraph · Siya completely fell into corruption, the S-rank hidden quest Heart Knot would fail, and Siya would die permanently.
But obviously, in Lin Mo's current state, there was no way he could clear the Land of Abandoned Ghosts Secret Realm and get out of here within just two or three days.
Unless Lin Mo could rapidly increase his strength.
But the fact was: items could not be transferred between the inside of the Land of Abandoned Ghosts and the outside world.
This meant that even if Ning Xi and the others had a way to obtain a set of high-level Tier 6 or Tier 7 equipment for Lin Mo outside, they couldn't transmit it into Lin Mo's hands.
And inside the Land of Abandoned Ghosts Secret Realm, there was even no way to obtain high-level equipment and increase his strength.
To increase his strength and clear the secret realm, Lin Mo first had to get out of the Land of Abandoned Ghosts.
But before clearing the secret realm, he couldn't get out…
Invisible, this had already formed a dead loop.
For a moment, Lin Mo lost all his strength and means.
Could it be that he was destined to sacrifice Divine Descent Seraph · Siya...
Just as Lin Mo was at a loss for what to do.
Ding!
Ning Xi suddenly sent a message, ["Brother Lin Mo, I just passed the third-stage God Creation assessment."]
["How are things on your side?"]
Lin Mo replied bitterly, ["No good. With my current strength, I can't fight this secret realm. I can only wait until the secret realm closes fourteen days from now before I can get out."]
'Wait!'
Seeing Ning Xi say that she had passed the third-stage God Creation assessment.
Lin Mo seemed to have thought of something.
His eyes suddenly lit up!
His heart shook!
"Although resources from the outside world can't be transferred into the Land of Abandoned Ghosts, if I complete the S-rank hidden quest Heart Knot, I can directly claim the quest rewards inside the secret realm and obtain the Tier 8 set!"]l
"And as long as I put on this equipment set, I'll gain enough power to clear the secret realm!"
"The requirement of the Heart Knot quest doesn't specifically require the quest executor to personally kill a certain BOSS. It only requires the God Clan to acknowledge Siya."
Lin Mo pondered, "So theoretically, this quest doesn't necessarily have to be carried out by me personally. Anyone can take my place."
"If that's the case, then if Ning Xi passes the God Creation assessment, enters the Divine Kingdom, and completes the quest in my place, this deadlock can be broken."
