The rest of the day should have been ordinary.

The employee nodded awkwardly before excusing themselves.
The moment the door closed behind them, Stephanie sighed.
Then leaned back in her chair.
And immediately thought about Evelyn Vale.

"...I love Riley."
Stephanie closed her eyes.
"...I may or may not have memorized several speeches he's given."
She pressed her fingers against her temples.
"...I definitely don't know exactly how many times he's been featured on magazine covers."
