Although Belotti still had one Pokémon that had yet to appear, now that the battle had reached this point, anyone with eyes could clearly see the situation.
Unless the final Pokémon she had left was absurdly powerful, possessing combat strength at the level of a First-tier Legendary, there was no way she could turn the situation around.
Only something like that could accomplish the incredible feat of defeating six opponents in a row and win this battle.
But obviously...
Judging from the Pokémon Belotti had already sent out, the final Pokémon she had left was most likely Raikou.
After all, all three of the Three Legendary Birds had already appeared.
Two members of the Three Legendary Beasts had also taken the field.
That left Raikou as the most likely candidate.
Sure enough...
The next second, under everyone's expectant gazes, Belotti reached for the final Poké Ball at her waist.
She threw it toward the battlefield.
After tracing an arc through the air, the Poké Ball opened and a yellow Pokémon appeared on the field.
Two long, sharp fangs.
A lightning-bolt-shaped tail.
Black markings covering its limbs.
The one who had appeared was none other than the final member of the Three Legendary Beasts—
Raikou!
"Oh!"
A wave of quiet exclamations swept through the audience.
Although the spectators had already predicted that Raikou would be the one to appear, actually seeing the Legendary Pokémon with their own eyes still left them deeply shaken.
In the finals of this tournament, they had managed to witness all three of the Three Legendary Beasts and all three of the Three Legendary Birds!
It had been more than worth coming here.
On the battlefield, Raikou raised his head and roared toward the sky.
His voice echoed throughout the entire stadium.
The scorching weather left behind by Entei suddenly began to darken.
Heavy clouds gathered overhead, with flashes of lightning faintly flickering within them.
As expected of a Legendary Pokémon.
His mere entrance carried astonishing momentum.
Raikou looked full of confidence.
He hadn't been affected in the slightest by the results of the previous battles.
At this moment, his eyes were fixed firmly on Shiko.
Not bad.
Shiko smiled faintly.
Then, under the knowing gazes of countless spectators, his hand reached toward the last Poké Ball at his waist.
The next second...
Under countless expectant gazes, the Poké Ball traced an elegant arc through the air.
Ripples of crimson light surged outward.
Then another never-before-seen humanoid creature appeared before everyone.
Six pristine white wings spread behind her.
Pink ribbons wound around her body.
Her long, pale-green hair floated gently despite the absence of any wind.
Her appearance perfectly overlapped with the image of an angel in everyone's imagination.
"An angel?!"
"Another completely new Pokémon we've never seen before!"
"She looks so elegant!"
"Just looking at her is enough to win me over!"
"I can feel how powerful she is even through the screen!"
Countless viewers watching the match through their screens, along with the spectators witnessing the scene firsthand at the stadium, couldn't help crying out in amazement.
That was right!
For his final choice, Shiko had sent out none other than Angewomon, a Digimon possessing both extraordinary beauty and formidable strength.
The moment she appeared, she instantly captured the hearts of countless spectators.
Raikou certainly looked imposing as well.
But when it came to appearance, the difference between them was enormous.
Even the referee was completely mesmerized by Angewomon's flawless appearance.
It took him quite a while to recover.
Only then did he lower the signal flag and announce the beginning of the battle.
"Tch!"
Belotti clicked her tongue.
Sure enough...
This guy had once again brought out another completely unfamiliar creature.
And judging from its aura, it wasn't any weaker than the ones that had appeared earlier.
What a nuisance.
Belotti clenched her fist.
"Go, Raikou!"
With a wave of her hand, she issued her command.
Raikou appeared to be in excellent fighting condition, his entire body radiating fighting spirit.
Immediately afterward...
Bright yellow electricity began coiling around his body.
Under the enhancement of the electric current, Raikou's overall condition improved considerably.
The next second...
His figure vanished from where he stood.
Then, almost as if he had teleported, he abruptly appeared on the opposite side of the battlefield.
By the time everyone's eyes managed to catch up with his movements...
He had already charged directly in front of Angewomon.
His astonishing speed carried a tremendous burst of force.
The resulting strike, unleashed by Raikou in his current state, was extraordinarily powerful.
Angewomon failed to react in time.
The attack struck her cleanly.
The tremendous impact sent her flying more than ten meters backward.
Only after completely dispersing the force did she stabilize herself and reveal her figure again.
"Hm?"
A trace of surprise appeared on Shiko's face.
This Raikou was unexpectedly capable.
After successfully landing his first attack, Raikou immediately pressed his advantage.
He continued moving at tremendous speed, rapidly closing the distance again.
Then he unleashed Thunderbolt.
Crackle!
Electric arcs exploded outward in every direction.
An astonishing amount of energy spilled into the surrounding air.
There was even a faint smell of something being scorched by electricity.
A white barrier immediately appeared around Angewomon.
It radiated a hazy, sacred glow.
The barrier perfectly neutralized the attack.
Seeing that his attack had failed, Raikou immediately began preparing his next offensive.
He retreated and opened up some distance.
Then he stopped firmly in the distance.
Shiko watched him carefully, wondering what kind of move he was preparing to use next.
However, he quickly noticed that Raikou seemed to be gathering energy.
The Electric-type energy dispersed throughout the surrounding air was visibly converging toward Raikou's body.
Little by little, it was absorbed into him.
Charge?
So that was what he was doing.
He might look impatient, but he was unexpectedly intelligent when it came to battle.
Shiko silently evaluated Raikou.
Raikou absorbed the energy extremely quickly.
After all, as an Electric-type Legendary Pokémon, his affinity with and control over electrical energy were far beyond what ordinary Electric-type Pokémon could compare with.
