The red patterns on the eggshell flickered between light and dark.

What followed was the crisp sound of pieces of eggshell breaking apart.
Everyone at the scene had their eyes locked firmly onto it.
This strange egg—
It looked like it was about to hatch.
No one knew what kind of Pokémon was inside.
On the other side,
within the white Evolution Light,
Shiko was undergoing his baptism.
The abundant and powerful Dark-type energy inside his body was now being drawn by an unknown force.
It surged wildly outward.
That Dark-type energy actually forced its way into Shiko's indestructible Chrome Digizoid Battle Armor.
Across the surface,
it coated the armor in a deep, cold black.
His clear, bright-blue dragon eyes
were also dyed into a profound black.
The Brave Shield on his back, engraved with an abstract sun-like Crest of Courage pattern,
did not escape either.
It too was stained black.
Even the sun-like mark of the Crest of Courage was worn away.
The invasion of Dark-type energy continued.
Until finally, Shiko's entire body had turned pitch-black, like the night itself.
And at that moment,
the mechanical electronic voice rang out once again in Shiko's mind.

Shiko immediately felt a surge of excitement.
BlackWarGreymon had not only replaced WarGreymon's Steel type with the Dark type,
it had also gained a completely new ability: Dark Justice.

was unexpectedly powerful!
In actual battle, it was absolutely a bug-level existence!
While Shiko was sighing in amazement,
the shell of that pitch-black Pokémon Egg had almost completely broken apart.

Immediately after,
the entire egg-shaped membrane began trembling violently.
The thing inside
seemed as if it could no longer wait to break free from its shell.
The pillars of energy flying in from outside gradually grew faint.
A dozen or so seconds later,
those pure pillars of energy completely disappeared.
And right at that moment,
the twisting and bulging of the egg-shaped membrane reached an eerie limit.
In the next second,
with a soft ripping sound,
a pair of enormous wings that blotted out the sky stretched out from within the egg.
The pitch-black feathers covering them were dotted with vivid, blood-red patterns that continued to flicker between light and dark.
The instant everyone saw that pair of wings,
the entire venue fell into a deathly, silent stillness.
