On the empty battle arena, a huge black hole slowly emerged.
The black vortex kept twisting and expanding.
An intense Dark-type aura began to surge violently.
Darkrai's body appeared little by little from within the black hole.
Only then did everyone notice that Darkrai was gripping Mew by the tail and holding it upside down.
Mew's eyes were completely hollow, swirling with spirals.
One look was enough to tell that Mew had lost the ability to battle.
At the sight, Himeko's heart suddenly clenched.
Sure enough.
When both sides were Second-tier Legendaries, Psychic-type Mew naturally was not Darkrai's match.
All the more so after being dragged into Darkrai's Dark Void space to fight.
Its defeat was only natural.
She just had not expected everything to happen so silently.
At the same time, after a brief moment of stunned silence, the hundreds of thousands of spectators at the venue erupted once more in thunderous applause and cheers.
"Too strong!!"
"My god! I didn't expect it to finish this quickly!"
"That Darkrai is so cool!"
"I told you! Shuzo is definitely winning this match!"
"..."
The spectators at the venue discussed excitedly.
After watching Darkrai defeat Mew with such ease, everyone's emotions and enthusiasm surged once again.
This time, Shuzo had once more seized the apparent advantage in the audience's minds.
"All right! Send out your next Pokémon!"
Beneath the mask, a smile appeared in Shuzo's eyes and at the corners of his mouth.
That flash of confidence made it seem as if victory had long since been in his grasp.
Himeko remained silent.
She took out a Poké Ball and first recalled Mew, who had lost the ability to battle.
"What do you think, Shiko?"
She carefully asked Shiko.
Although Shiko had previously shown battle power that could easily crush Mew, this Darkrai now seemed even stronger than Mew.
For a moment, Himeko could not quite judge Darkrai's true strength.
Nor did she know what the result would be if Shiko faced it.
"Easy kill."
Three calm words, devoid of any emotion, rang out in Himeko's mind.
One month ago, right after he had evolved into WarGreymon, he had already been able to defeat Mew head-on.
Now, facing this Darkrai, how could there be any reason he could not win?
"Good!"
Himeko nodded.
She let out a breath of relief.
With Shiko's words, she could feel secure.
When she raised her head again, her expression had become firm and confident.
"It's coming! It's coming!"
"I wonder what her next Pokémon is!"
"I'd say it's probably Lopunny or Gardevoir!"
"Nonsense! Those two Pokémon are only Elite Four-level. How could they possibly beat Darkrai?"
"I told you! There's no way she can win this match now!"
"Wait! Did you notice? Himeko's eyes changed!"
"Damn! With that confident expression, could she still have something huge left?"
"Nonsense! What, is she going to bring out another Second-tier Legendary? I don't believe it!"
"..."
Originally, the spectators at the venue all thought that, now that the match had reached this point, victory would undoubtedly belong to Shuzo.
But when they caught sight of Himeko's eyes, they began to doubt themselves.
In a situation like this, to still remain so confident and composed...
Contestant Himeko almost certainly still had several trump cards hidden in her hand!
But the problem was...
She had clearly already sent out a Second-tier Legendary, Mew, as her opening fighter.
If she still had a Pokémon no weaker than Mew, or even stronger...
Then did that not mean Himeko possessed at least one more Pokémon on the level of a Second-tier Legendary?
How was that possible!?
That was too absurd!
Did people really think Legendary Pokémon of this level came in bulk lots or something?
The spectators at the venue all carried different thoughts and guesses in their hearts.
Their gazes focused in unison on the figure standing on the battle arena.
They stared fixedly at the Luxury Ball she had taken from her waist.
Inside that ball...
Just what Pokémon was it!?
