Shiko narrowed his dragon eyes.
A sharp glint flashed through them.
He stomped hard on the ground.
Like a jet fighter, he shot into the air with a roar,
weaving through the passage at an exaggerated speed,
like a streaking yellow meteor.
Damn!
I can finally fly!
Shiko cried out excitedly in his heart.
He would never again have to let Himeko store him inside a Poké Ball,
then ride a Flying-type Pokémon over long distances.
Now,
he could do it himself!
After getting a taste of what flight felt like,
Shiko estimated that
if he went all out and pushed his speed to the limit,
he would definitely be far faster than Dragonite, the Pokémon known for Mach-speed flight!
Melmetal and Registeel
were frantically fleeing along the passage toward the exit.
No matter how hard they tried, they could not understand
why an ordinary Pokémon
that had never stepped into the Legendary realm
could, after evolving just once,
suddenly stand above them
and directly enter the realm of a second-tier Legendary!?

arrived nearby.
They were observing the situation from the air,
and with a single glance,
they saw Melmetal and Registeel panting as they fled in panic.
It was as if
some great horror was chasing after them.
The sight of two third-tier Legendaries fleeing so miserably
left them completely dumbstruck.
A being that even third-tier Legendaries feared...
Could it be...!?
Had a second-tier Legendary appeared here as well?
The entire squad instantly tensed up.
Every gaze
locked tightly onto the cave.
No one even blinked.
They held their breath,
not daring to make a sound.
At that moment,
everyone began to worry, for no clear reason, about GeoGreymon.
This key target of the Military's focused cultivation program
caught between two third-tier Legendaries and a second-tier Legendary
was surely doomed!

at the entrance of that green cave,
a brilliant flash of yellow suddenly appeared.

After flying out of the cave and landing,
he used the momentum to launch forward again.
That yellow streak of light closed in on Melmetal and Registeel in the blink of an eye!
He crossed both claws before his chest.
Cherry-red draconic energy wrapped around them.
A fierce aura swept outward.
In an instant,
a massive dragon's roar echoed across this vast mountain range!
The Dragon Claw of WarGreymon form!
His indestructible Digi-Alloy claws matched perfectly with Dragon-type energy!
A cross-shaped blade of light slashed out,
cutting apart the air itself,
shredding the energy within it,
and struck the fleeing Melmetal and Registeel with perfect accuracy!
"Graaah!!!!"
A scream of agony rang out.
Melmetal's body
was instantly cut into countless shattered fragments of liquid alloy.
Its hexagonal nut-like core fell to the ground,
and its hexagonal eye and body once again fell unconscious.
Registeel's condition was even worse.
Its thick and resilient body
was completely incapable of resisting Shiko's ultimate, razor-sharp strike.
After the sharp blade-light carved into its body,
the tremendous impact behind it
sent it flying straight away.
It crossed several hundred meters
before being embedded into a silver-white mountain opposite them,
slamming deeply into it.
The cross-shaped blade-light exploded around it,
actually blasting chunks off the mountainside.
Registeel's head tilted to one side.
It, too, fainted unconscious.
The way it looked now
made it seem exactly like a martyr nailed to a cross.
Shiko looked at the results of his attack,
and satisfaction showed in his eyes.
He was extremely pleased with the terrifying combat power he had displayed.
This evolution
had once again allowed him to break past the limits of ordinary Pokémon.
He had undergone a complete rebirth.
Not only had his talent and potential entered the ranks of second-tier Legendaries,
but the reward for his main evolution quest had also arrived.
A staggering one thousand experience points
had directly pushed his level
from Champion-tier
up to the level of a top human powerhouse!
