Lin Tian's hand tightened around his sword as Mira's words settled in the group.

The water around them grew darker, colder. The Abyssal Lung adaptation kept them breathing, but Lin Tian felt the pressure building in his chest. Not from the depth. From the weight of what waited below.
"How long ago?" he asked.
Mira's scales flickered. "Before my grandmother's grandmother. The Kraken was the first guardian of the temple. When the Void came, it tried to fight. It failed."
"Failed how?"
"It didn't die." Mira's voice dropped. "It became something else. Something that serves the corruption now."
Su Lan moved closer to Lin Tian, her fire qi casting a warm glow through the water. "If the Kraken is guarding the Fragment, we'll have to go through it."
"Through it or around it," Lin Tian said. "We'll see what we're dealing with first."
They descended.
