Targets locked one by one, Felix pulled the firing trigger, unleashing a torrent of firepower in an instant.
Beams and shells swept across the space before the Genesis Gundam.
Missiles in flight were struck one after another, their explosions blooming like dazzling fireworks before Felix's eyes.
After two volleys, Felix pressed the pedals to retreat. The Genesis Gundam moved in response to the command, its subtle maneuvers adjusted by Felix's control stick, allowing it to evade incoming attacks.
Having dodged the most dangerous assaults, Felix's Intuition flared. Guided by the gravitational trajectory map in his mind, he maneuvered the Genesis Gundam.
The mobile suit shifted to the left rear, precisely avoiding the attack.
The Genesis Gundam raised its Beam Rifle, the muzzle glowing briefly before a beam shot out rapidly.
The beam streaked through the air, destroying a Strike Dagger ahead.
Watching the explosion's blaze, Felix piloted the Genesis Gundam to move again.
Shortly after he moved away, several beams passed through the spot where the Genesis Gundam had just stood.
"This guy has been fighting for hours. Isn't he tired?"
A questioning voice echoed over the Earth Alliance Forces frontline communications.
Before the Strike Dagger pilot could receive an answer, a beam attack from the Genesis Gundam struck.
The swift, accurate, and ruthless beam left him no time to react, ending his life in terror.
After destroying that Strike Dagger, Felix aimed the Genesis Gundam at another, but missiles from a distant battleship surged in again.
Their numbers had increased compared to the previous wave.
"How annoying!"
Frowning, Felix muttered in frustration.
While evading with the Genesis Gundam, he reactivated the Multiple Lock-on System.
As he locked onto the missiles, several Strike Daggers charged toward the Genesis Gundam.
The advancing Strike Daggers fired their Beam Rifles.
Facing the incoming attacks, Felix continued locking on while maneuvering the Genesis Gundam to evade.
Though his efficiency dipped slightly, it hardly affected him.
With the trigger pulled!
A fierce barrage erupted.
Beams and shells crisscrossed the airspace, while missile explosions wove a spectacular display.
"Captain, respond if you can hear me!"
"Just speak directly."
Hearing Aric's voice, Felix replied over the comms as he evaded attacks with the Genesis Gundam.
No sooner had he spoken than Aric's voice came through again.
"Captain, our ammunition reserves are running low."
"Has the Ministry of Defense not delivered the latest supply yet?"
Frowning, Felix questioned back over the comms.
Aric continued his report.
"The latest ammunition supply won't arrive until tomorrow."
"Cease combat temporarily. Order the troops to withdraw from the battlefield in an orderly manner."
After destroying another Strike Dagger with the Genesis Gundam, Felix relayed the instructions to Aric over the comms.
Upon receiving the order, Aric acknowledged and ended the communication with Felix.
With the communication silenced, Felix pulled the trigger, eliminating a Strike Dagger before piloting the Genesis Gundam to withdraw from the battlefield in an orderly manner.
Inside the Flagship of the Earth Alliance Forces' Ptolemy Military Base Garrison
"Commander, the ZAFT Forces are withdrawing from the battlefield in an orderly fashion."
"I can see that."
Thurman glanced at Landon and spoke calmly.
Hearing this, Landon promptly closed his mouth and stood waiting for Thurman's next command.
After a moment of silence, Thurman issued the order.
"Order the troops to withdraw from the battlefield in an orderly manner."
"Yes, sir!"
Landon saluted and replied upon receiving the command.
"Why are we running low on ammunition?"
Stepping onto the bridge, Felix asked Aric.
Aric turned to face Felix and saluted.
"Captain, our offensive pace has accelerated recently, and the consumption rate has increased accordingly, leading to the shortage."
Felix nodded slightly upon hearing this, then sat down and looked at Aric.
"Didn't we communicate with the Ministry of Defense in advance?"
"We did communicate in advance and made new plans, but sometimes plans can't keep up with changes. The consumption under the current offensive has far exceeded our expectations, disrupting our arrangements.
Although we made multiple adjustments during this period, we still couldn't keep up with the changes on the battlefield, which is why this situation occurred."
Looking at Felix, Aric nodded and explained somewhat helplessly. Listening to the explanation, Felix nodded calmly.
"I understand." Replying to Aric, Felix stood up again. "Everyone is quite tired, so let's take this opportunity to rest properly."
"Yes, sir!"
Aric raised his hand in salute.
...
Inside Felix's Room
"Is something the matter?"
Patrick's voice echoed in the room.
Felix looked at Patrick on the screen, gathering his thoughts before speaking.
"Chairman, could you allocate some additional troops to my side?"
"Are you short on troops?"
Patrick frowned and asked sternly.
Felix nodded.
"Currently, we are indeed somewhat short on troops."
Hearing the response, Patrick's expression grew even more serious. After a long silence, he spoke.
"Can you capture the Ptolemy Military Base without additional troops?"
"It would be quite difficult." Answering the question, Felix feigned ignorance and asked in return, "Chairman, has something happened back home?"
"Currently, the Earth Alliance Forces are attacking the Boaz Fortress and have deployed nuclear weapons."
Pressed by Felix's question, Patrick no longer held back and spoke plainly. Upon learning this, Felix pretended to be shocked, then showed urgency in his expression.
"Chairman, what's the current situation? Do you need me to lead the team back for reinforcements?"
"The situation is still under control, and there's no need for you to return with your team at the moment." Patrick shook his head and continued.
After saying this, Patrick spoke to Felix with a hint of apology.
"Felix, I'm sorry, but we can't spare any troops for you."
"It's alright. The security of the homeland comes first."
Shaking his head, Felix replied understandingly.
After saying this, Felix fell silent for a moment before continuing.
"Chairman, could you brief me on the current situation at Boaz Fortress?"
Patrick nodded and readily agreed.
"I'll send you these details in document form shortly."
As he spoke, Patrick's expression suddenly grew more solemn. Seeing his serious face, Felix could already guess what he was about to say.
At that moment, Patrick's voice rang out.
"Lacus Clyne has appeared near Boaz Fortress leading the Eternal and her crew!"
