William came out of his hut carrying the unconscious body of Lia. His steps were steady, but there was a faint tension in the way he held her, as if he was being extra careful not to drop the fragile life in his hands. Lia's body was malnourished, like a stick.
He himself had just assimilated Rah's Echo. Though it hardly affected his skin, a noticeable change was in the tips of his blue hair. The tips of his hair had turned ash black. The detail was clearly noticeable and stood out in a way that was difficult to ignore, especially under natural light.
To not make anyone suspicious, William tried to cut his hair. He did not want unnecessary attention when he returned to Aris. He called one of his slaves, who was a proficient barber, and got a haircut, hoping to trim the black-tipped parts, but his simplistic approach did not work.
