"Arghh!!!! My lord, forgive me!!" A piercing shrill cry escaped the mouth of the old butler inside William's moving ship.
Blue Raven, aka William, sat in the corner of the chamber with mana clouded around his ears. He looked at the mess unfolding in the center of the huge room.
Several hounds pinned the old butler to the floor while Number 1 brutally interrogated the poor old hag. William looked at the sliced fingers and gouged-out eyeballs scattered across the floor.
And the irony was that the old hag hadn't even confessed to any collusion with the demon cults. He had only admitted to siding with Daniel—betraying Aurelius in his political missions and leaking private decisions and policies to his brother.
William wondered whether the wailing, broken old butler even knew he had been helping a traitor to the kingdom. The reason he had given was simply his belief that Daniel, as the elder sibling, was the rightful owner of the throne.
