Chapter 501 - Total Suppression

The arrival of the Titans yielded an almost instantaneous, crushing dominance over the ground theater.

The slavering daemon host was effortlessly driven back by the four Psi-Titans, forced to retreat toward the billowing red miasma anchored by the unholy currents of Khorne.

Yet, as a soul-shattering shriek echoed from the profoundest depths of the Immaterium, something far more cataclysmic than Angron began to take shape within the sky-piercing crimson fog.

Zap!

A blinding beam of concentrated, dark-crimson energy lanced out from the heart of the red mist, tracking straight for one of the Warlord-class Psi-Titans.

The Warlord's six layered void shields were punctured in a single, seamless microsecond. Even the secondary, inner psychic barrier was violently shattered. The profane energy tore a massive, jagged crater into the engine's flank, immediately corrupting the warp-fueled, auto-reactive mending systems of its Necrotechica components.

The dark power of Chaos back-bled into the machine's primary architecture.

A localized psychic scream erupted from the Titan's vox-grilles. The psychic fields enveloping its chassis detonated outward in a violent, multi-directional shockwave before tearing themselves apart and dissipating into nothingness.

Within the command deck, the blood-slicked, untouchable Princeps fought against his own nervous system to maintain control, stubbornly forcing the damaged God-Machine to unleash another counter-salvo into the mist.

The Sunfury plasma annihilator charged once more, discharging a brilliant bolt of superheated matter that vanished into the crimson dark.

The moment the Princeps realized his captive psykers were falling victim to empyrean corruption, he manually toggled the execution commands on their sarcophagi, terminating their life signs instantly. The enemy's beam had missed his physical cradle, but the crushing mental load of solo-piloting a crippled Titan without the buffer of his maniple was rapidly liquefying his cerebral cortex.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

An incredibly heavy, agonizingly dense stride reverberated through the permafrost.

The superheated plasma flashes parted the veil of the crimson fog for a fraction of a second, exposing a fragment of the entity lurking within. A massive wave of daemon engines surged forth, and as the sky-blocking silhouette of the god-machine finally crossed the threshold of the mist, the minds of the four remaining Psi-Titan crew members stalled in absolute horror.

"By the Emperor... what manner of profanity is this?!"

A massive, segmented metallic tail suddenly whipped out from the shadow, lancing forward to drive its blade directly into the colossal head of a Warlord Titan.

Such a visceral, physical impact bypasses void shields entirely. The engine's psychic barriers shattered instantly under the kinetic weight, and the reinforced armor, forged from layers of dense ceramite and adamantium, was cleanly transfixed.

BOOM!

A chain reaction of internal explosions ripped through the segmented tail's entry point, the violent discharge blowing the Warlord's head unit into a shower of molten scrap.

The massive skeletal remains of the God-Machine crashed down upon the permafrost with a world-shaking detonation. Deprived of its governing systems, the plasma reactor went instantly critical, engulfing the broken chassis in an apocalyptic fireball.

The blinding flash of the detonation finally laid bare the nightmare towering over the war zone.

"A Chaos Emperor Titan... Abominatus!"

This colossal Titan was a legendary avatar of slaughter, a name whispered with absolute dread across every sector of the galaxy. It was the unholy fusion of a Greater Daemon of Khorne and a fallen Imperator-class Titan, a profane entity that perfectly wedded the reality-warping malice of the Warp to the monolithic, world-ending chassis of the Imperium's greatest war machine.

It was, without question, one of the proudest, most horrific masterpieces of mechanical blasphemy to ever carry the favor of the Blood God.

Abominatus retained the iconic, cathedral-like silhouette of an Imperator-class Titan, its spires piercing the low clouds. Yet, every square inch of its towering frame was encrusted with jagged bronze barbs and twisting, profane runes of Chaos.

The broken skeletons and severed heads of countless unfortunates were woven between the metal spikes. The runes carved across the machine's chassis pulsed with an unsettling, blood-red light, radiating an aura of ceaseless slaughter and ancient damnation.

Wherever this nightmare walked, it dragged entire sub-sectors into a state of total, bloody ruin.

Its original mechanical hull had been thoroughly warped and remolded by the unholy energies of the Blood God. The metal skin resembled iron left to soak in a perpetual bath of fresh blood, presenting a sickening, dark-crimson hue while plumes of greasy black smoke vented continuously from the structural seams.

The head unit was a monstrous, leering visage. Its massive optical arrays burned like twin spheres of green balefire, casting an unholy, predatory gaze across the flats that felt capable of searing a mortal's soul from their flesh.

Furthermore, the primary weapon arms of this fallen God-Machine were nothing short of catastrophic: a massive Hellstorm cannon and an ultra-heavy plasma macro-weapon.

The maw of the Hellstorm cannon was as dark and bottomless as a black hole. When unleashed, it vomited a swirling tempest of fire saturated with pure warp-energy, reducing everything caught in its wake to microscopic ash. The secondary plasma weapon discharged immense, star-hot bolts that possessed the raw potency to pierce the reinforced bulkheads of any opposing Titan in a single strike.

Yet, its secondary armaments were what truly defined its individual savagery.

The warp-surge had caused the machine to sprout a colossal, alloyed tail from its lower spine, bristling with vicious spikes. A high-yield weapon known as a Scorpion Cannon was integrated into the terminus of this prehensile construct. This short-range saturation weapon could discharge an incredibly dense curtain of high-caliber projectiles within a microsecond, literally tearing apart any target that drew too close.

In addition, several massive Mangler claws were welded across the Titan's lower torso. Forged from warp-tempered alloys and sharpened to a mono-molecular edge, these monstrous talons could effortlessly tear open the heavy hull plating of enemy vehicles and opposing Titans, dismantling enemy war engines like fragile playthings.

Axion stared up at the monstrosity, its optical lenses flickering at maximum frequency. The machine resembled a grotesque crossbreed between a crude Ork Gargant and a defiled Imperial God-Machine; for a single millisecond, the sheer absurdity of the construct caused a momentary stutter in Axion's data-streams.

Yet, whatever Abominatus lacked in aesthetic logic, it more than made up for in raw, unadulterated devastation.

Of the four original Psi-Titans, only three remained standing. The previously crippled engine was functional in name only; the moment its Princeps succumbed to the lethal neural load, the machine would drop into a permanent state of dormancy.

The Chaos Titan panned its emerald gaze over the battlefield. A massive, warp-boosted vox-array woven into its iron jaw barked out a proclamation soaked in pure arrogance and ancient malice:

"Mortals! Today marks the end of Terra! Your so-called Holy Emperor is nothing but a rotting corpse upon a throne of shit! I bear the unyielding wrath of Khorne, and I shall turn this deceitful sanctuary into a wasteland of blood and ash!"

"Your faith, your hope, all shall be crushed to dust under my treads! Cower and bleed, let your despair flow until the skies run red, feeding the eternal glory of the Blood God! Death is your only salvation, and I am the master of this slaughter!"

On the frozen ground below, the surviving Custodians fought to stabilize their biological responses. From the subtle, tense shifting of their auramite armor, it was clear that a deep, instinctual shock was rippling through them.

The unholy pressure radiating from Khorne's chosen engine was actively clawing at their mental fortresses.

While the Legio Custodes held an immaculate record, never once yielding a single warrior to the corruption of Chaos, it did not mean they were numb to the crushing spiritual weight of an entity that carried the direct, unmitigated malice of a Chaos God.

More and more daemon engines were breaking through the boundary of the fog.

Packs of Blood Slaughterers surged forward under the lash of master Slaughter Engines, racing immediately behind the slavering Flesh Hounds. These frenzied, track-driven horrors carved across the permafrost, carelessly butchering any Bloodletters that were unfortunate enough to be standing in their immediate path of advance.

The grander Bloodthirsters, possessing a modicum more tactical awareness, actively veered away from the path of the erratic machines.

However, a pair of displaced Blood Slaughterers blundered directly toward Angron and An'ggrath, who were still recovering from the kinetic shock of the previous plasma bombardment. The mindless engines began swinging their blades erratically near the warlords, only to be instantly reduced to a pile of twisted scrap metal by two simultaneous, irritated strokes of the Greater Daemons' axes.
